Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And Bannon's being charged in New York, which means Trump can't pardon him, right? I will take Bannon going to jail as the first step of many.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

He's being charged in a Federal court, the SDNY. Which means that Trump can and will pardon him, eventually.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Except he probably won't be tried and convicted by the end of the year, no? KNOCK ON WOOD

Our wings are not tired.

I know he will pardon a very long list of people, and try and pardon himself. This nightmare is not close to being over.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dangit. But can be pre-preemptively pardon him on his way out the door if the case is still ongoing?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I thought someone had to be convicted before you could pardon them, but I could be wrong.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

With this administration, who knows.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Ugh. I managed to fuck things up today before even waking up.

Gud, unless you are stabbing people in your sleep, I'm going to say you didn't fuck anything up.

You are a good, kind, caring person. I wish people closer to you understood that.

Librarian Warlord

The president can issue a pardon before conviction. See, Ford pardoning Nixon.

We will have students in classes on campus starting on Monday, and it is going to be a mess. I am trying to protect my staff as best as I am able, but it is really, really difficult when the Powers That Be care first about making it look like everything is a-okay and safe rather than actually making it safe. Signed, 78,000+ sq feet and only allowed 2 bottles of disinfectant from the U. (I bought some on my own dime for my staff, see also wipes which the U is not supplying at all, and hand sanitizer because the U's dispensers are sometimes empty with *no* students on campus).
