I look more rad than Lutheranism

I love dealing with things via email or chat. If nothing else, you have a record to refer back to.

And you get the unparalleled satisfaction of being able to get all "per my last email..."

Ugh. Promised some friends with new babies I'd bring by cookies. I planned to give them some frozen dough and a few freshly baked. And instead my cookies spread out completely all over the pan, melted way too quick. Can't even cut them up and pretend they're bar cookies, they're awful. Now I'm making another pan and hoping it was just that they were too warm or my oven was too warm and not that I messed up the (double) recipe somehow!

Thrive to spite them

Even though I'm going to work and have a semi set work schedule I still can't seem to keep track of the dates. I forgot Mom's birthday is tomorrow.

I also somehow went the whole month of July without talking to my nephew.

All I want to do on my days off right now are just not interact with people, which isntt the greatest thing. When it comes to keep up with family.

Literally I called Mom and talked to her today and I feel like I will be ok if I don't have anyother phone calls until next week.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I hear you on that, askye. I know when I was working retail I was always all peopled out, and even now - I talk to my mom about once a week, usually she calls me, I text with my brother randomly, haven't talked to my sister in months. And I like all of them! On the other hand, I don't do anything to report on or have anything interesting to say, so (I mean, sometimes my mom does get the same kind of complaints about work that I post here but I'm not going to call her up just for that (unless I'm really really aggravated))

Cookie~ma, meara!

I totally pulled "as I requested on 7/31..." today and the other person apologized for missing the earlier request. Wild!

Punishingly Intricate

There are also sometimes emails (long, long chains of emails) that are better off being 1 half-hour meeting. It cuts both ways.

msbelle, some of the issues you've been dealing with at work (people being confused about what they're tasked with, if I'm understanding correctly) might be resolved with a 15 minute standup call every morning or every other morning.

Our wings are not tired

ND, you are constantly at the back of my mind during all this.

Thanks. So far I've been able to keep the office together, all of my full time folks still have jobs. There was one 4 week furlough right at the beginning of all of this. If round 2 of the PPP comes through then I will feel better about the next few months.

Fingers crossed, ND

BTW, the life insurance premium I was worried about last week? I went to pay it this morning and now it says it isn't due until September. I don't know why, presumably COVID related (my payment history says I paid it last year on 8/5 so it's not just me getting the date wrong), but I'll take it!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

good luck, ND, and happy birthday, Fred Pete!

I'm discovering the downside of SIP at my brother's house, which is that he sometimes holds loud speaker-phone conference calls in the same room as me and I can't concentrate. Also the dog is being annoying. Also too close to the kitchen where there is carrot cake.

OTOH I got to give my 12-yo nephew a list of writers/books to look for at the library, go me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck with everything, ND.

And for some reason it is harder to hang back and just do work on a zoom meeting than in an in person, which is weird. I think it is the lack of two monitors, so I have to minimize zoom to work during a meeting.

If you don't have to talk in the meeting, I think it would be better, since you'd at least be looking in the right direction! If I want to do something else during a Zoom, I put the window on top of the meeting on purpose. (If I say I'm going to look the thing up, I'll look over at the other monitor....)

Now tagless for your comfort.

Crossing everything that's possible for you.

OTOH I got to give my 12-yo nephew a list of writers/books to look for at the library, go me.

This is my favorite!
