I fed off a flowerperson, and I spent the next six hours watchin' my hand move.

Are they expecting you to teach other classes and thinking the yearbook/journalism won't count?

I'm irked because I bought a propane fire table thing but thought based on some of the pics that it came with a piece that made it just a table, covering the fire part. Apparently not (and when I go reread the listing it says "cover"....and came with a plastic cover-the-whole-table drape thing). Grrrrr. There doesn't seem to be an option anywhere I can find to purchase one either. Boooooo. Also it's definitely not level but my patio is probably at fault there. Sigh.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

That's ridiculous, Pix.

We're waiting to see how Mr. S's new school is doing things. The person who gave us the tour last weekend thought they would go gradually towards fully open, but she wasn't involved in the decision process. They were supposed to let us know today, but so far no word.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Have you or Tim received any "explanation of benefits" statements online from your insurance company?

Yeah, pretty soon after the surgery, although right now I can't remember what the EOB said our portion is. I just really expected the hospital and/or surgeon to have billed us by now.

If you've got the mental wherewithal to deal with it, I'd pull those statements up, find out if/when the claim was processed, track down the billing department for the hospital and ask where things are in their system. I don't like advocating poking the bear, but potentially dealing with collections would be even less fun.

Our wings are not tired

Whoa, that lego Enterprise is awesome!

I'm checking out the vintage Atari 400 computer that is partially in that shot!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

The Board of Ed voted yesterday to delay the start of school by 2 weeks since we were supposed to start Tuesday and are still lacking guidance from the state Depts of Ed and Health on various things that are necessary before having kids back.

I was talking to the librarian at my local branch today, who's worried about what he'll do with his kid for the next 2 weeks. Like I told him, we're all in impossible situations, but there's a lot of people at the tops of organizations who are not covering themselves in glory at the moment.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Our district just sent out an email blast saying they were asking permission from the state to delay the next school year a week and that they would not be printing paper calendars at all. Which is a fun euphemism for "we plan to wing it for a while."

(Which in all honesty is probably the best way to go, but not exactly confidence-inspiring.)

Got an e-mail from the school, saying they're waiting another couple weeks to make the decision.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Score! Netflix has Clueless now (last time I looked they did not, or I couldn't find it, but how hidden could it have been?) I may have forgotten everything I wanted to watch for after listening to Emma, but still a worthwhile way to entertain myself tonight, I think.

Hm. Third glass of wine? I think yes.

Ooh, a survey of various versions starting with 2009 and Gwyneth Paltrow, don't mind if I do. I have to say, these days I feel a lot more sympathy with Mr Woodhouse, they ARE all putting us in peril and do take care with that cough!

Thrive to spite them

The school system here has multiple contingency plans, but the Gov really wants in person school 5 days a week. He flat out told the state education department to deny any school plans that do not include 5 day a week in person classes as one of the options. He as also trying to divert funds to private schools but what can you except from a GOP Gov?

In other news, our store iwll be open from 10-7 weekdays now (except Sunday which will be 12-6). I don't know if hte mall hours are changing. They juggled the schedules but no one is getting more hours. Right now we have the first and last hour with very very minimal staffing on registers.

That seems like an awkward schedule for getting hours, askye. I hope it works out.

Emma Woodhouse is the perfect part for Gwyneth Paltrow. And Ewan MacGregir asFrank Churchill, I had completely forgotten that, what a treat!
