Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

My Chevy Cavalier went to 230,000 miles with no problems at all. I shouldn't have sold it, it probably lasted another 50,000 miles at least.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

My 2007 Ford Focus was a very acceptable vehicle. (It replaced the motorcycle, so I wasn't going to be excited about it.)

For those of you who like the intersection of Buffista sprog, Matilda is going over to Juliana's today to look after Peanut as mother's helper.

Matilda is here, and Peanut is showing her All Of The Toys. Matilda is very good at being Appropriately Impressed. Big thanks to the Zmayhems for raising such a patient kid and letting her come over here and hang with mine.

I came here instead of Tumblr, in the hopes that I won't spend all of this time scrolling. We Shall See.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, this reminds me that I got amazing customer service from a different part of the Target supply chain -- they don't sell a replacement lampshade for the lamp I have, but the supplier sent me a new one for free!

Aw, Housewares, coming through for the consumer! That was nice of them.

Hi juliana!

I don't think anyone is very excited about a 2007 Ford Focus. Though I drove a loaner 2008 Ford Focus for a little bit (for title reasons not mechanical reasons) and I liked the 2007 better.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Super nice. I am not sure what I expected when I wrote them, but not that!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Almost anything Toyota will be super reliable, but because of that they hold their value really well, so it's harder to find one that is cheap that isn't also old with lots of miles.

We found this out about Subarus when we went to replace our ancient Forrester a few years back. Turns out EVERYONE drives their Forresters into the ground so finding one used is really difficult and won't save you any money. (The one we were replacing was 15 years old, over 100k miles on it, and only needed replacing because it wasn't able to survive being hit head-on by a very stupid other driver.)

Hah, yes, my Toyota is now 20 or 21 years old, and I've had it for almost 19??!?! I'm not sure how that's possible. It's got dents and is a beater, at this point, but it's only got 140K on it, so....hard to justify getting rid of, until I need to!

Our wings are not tired.

My biggest issue with getting a car is getting people to respond. I have contacted 5 people about vehicles. One was sold. One responded Yes when I asked about coming to see it, but no follow up with a where or when. The other 3, silence. I don't want to end up going to a used car lot, but I may have to do so.

Yeah, I see late 80s and early 90s era Toyota trucks sell for $15k to $20k if they are low mileage and were well maintained. It's bonkers.
