We don't really have those here except for very low income, seniors, and very large income (that I don't actually think anyone rents). We do have a lot of complexes with many small buildings with 3-4 units and a pool, and those have supers.

When I was growing up, at one point we had neighbors from Brazil. The woman's father was a carpenter and he - and her mother - came up to northern New Jersey to help them get their new house in shape. While they were there, it snowed. Being from Brazil, they hadn't seen snow before. The man stood just inside the garage, looked out at it, said something about how pretty it was ... and refused to go out in it.

Well, we started with a new nanny/aid today. Mr.S seems to like her, so that's good. Was a bit worried, since he did not go to sleep until late last night.

Today was day 1 of my week working in the office. I actually plowed through quite a bit of work, mostly email stuff though, so no real clearing of my desk.

My throat is getting some draining though and is itchy/bothered, so I was wanting to drink a lot and clear my throat. I am taking some extra allergy medicine tonight and will do a neti pot also. I hope that clear it up.

I remember to get air filters and a few other things from the hardware store on the way home, so I am pretty pleased with myself.

I did not get paid on Friday, which is not so pleasing. A mix up of people on vacation who submit and process payroll, so I need to figure out what that issue is since I think it only affected me. I'll get a paper check tomorrow, so it is all good.

I have a pet peeve and I apologize if any of you do this, but why did people start saying "meal prepping" instead of "cooking"??? You didn't meal prep for the week, you cooked for the week! (I would even accept "meal prep" for describing chopping the veg for five salads at once or other prep work.)

Sj- I'm so sorry. My younger cat pees on things. If ltc were feline, I would worry that it might be a uti. But I only know how to care for cats, not for teacup humans. More power to you and may tomorrow be a better day.

Jesse- I think people just really like the term "prep" and use it whenever possible. I think of "prepping" a meal as getting everything measured and chopped and ready to dump in the pan (or pot, or bowl, or whatever. ).

But then I could make a case that last night after I made a huge instapot of lentils and rice and a skillet full of caramelized onions that portioning it out into four servings for the rest of the week kinda counts as "preparing" future lunches that I can just pop in the microwave at work. Like: I cooked food, and then prepared it into future meals. But also, that's gold star adulting.
