Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(It did not fall into my lunch at this time.)

Phew.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a great improvement, Sheryl! Cool

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Good news! spider-free lunch and tooth-free medication!

I'm in the office and earlier I was at my desk and heard a "thump" ... when I checked it out, it was from a ceiling tile in one of the offices that had fallen. Fallen because it was saturated with water AND there was a big blister under the paint on the wall by it (full of water I assume) AND water stains on the non-tile ceiling. I got building maintenance on it ASAP, so the tile's been replaced, the blister seems to be shrinking and - I hope - no more water is leaking (they originally said it was from rain we had three days ago, but then one of the maintenance guys came through looking for a valve to shut off the water above our offices).

I got a stack of letters from personal injury lawyers today, who apparently didn't read far enough down the police report to discover that no one was actually injured in my collision last week.

The one time I was glad you were at the office and not WFH, Toddson!

That's kind of hilarious, Matt. Are you suuuuuuure you didn't get whiplash??

Thrive to spite them

So this afternoon Matthew started yelling for me . I wasn't sure what was going on --but he found 3 baby bunnies scattered around the yard. Their eyes weren't open and they were tiny and we aren't sure where the nest was. I found a wildlife rehab (after several attempts of texting/calling every person I could find) we kept them as warm as possible and Matthew found the body of a fourth. We finally got a hold of a rehab person and drove about 45 mins to drop them off, unfortunately the littlest dint make it.

They had been away from their mama a long time and were both dehydrated. and the rehab person was getting the stabilized and hydrated. I haven't had an update since then. Not sure they will both make it, one of them was really fading.

Matthew took it kind of hard.

the other day he also pulled a very young mouse out of the closet, the cats were very very interested in it and I'm not sure how it got in the house (as we couldn't find a nest) but he basically just took it outside to .. continue the circle of life for something else. So it's been a tough week for him and baby animals

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Life's rough for baby bunnies, especially if their mom gets caught by a predator. It's good of you and Matthew to try and help them.

Our wings are not tired.

Baby bunnies! Generally mice will avoid a place with cats. Mine did bring me an itty bitty baby mouse yesterday. I said no thanks and tossed him outside for the rest of the day.

Now tagless for your comfort.

My cat has killed a couple of young rabbits so far this summer. They seem to be the only thing besides voles that she is interested in. I wish she'd take care of the mouse in our garage.

Matt, I'm sure the personal injury attorney will tell you that whiplash can appear long after the actual accident.

I got some personal praise from one of our board members at the board meeting last night for my service for curbside pickup. Yay! I didn't even know she was a board member when I helped her pick out books and games for her grandchildren.

Don't undervalue the huge emotional trauma too.

Appreciation is a good thing.

My son is installing a window air conditioner in my camp here in Otter Lake. In the Adirondacks! AC! Global warming is real yo.
