I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

As far as I know, none of them have ever said anything about Adam Baldwin, so. Yeah.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Really? Well.

Had a glass of wine and watched the first episode of the quarantine version of The Princess Bride. So far it is as cute as you would imagine. Quibi might well win me over with this gambit.

Waiting for more orders to be approved so I can work more. Yay.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Took Nova in to the vet for a followup visit. They'll have the results of the bloodwork tomorrow, but she has put on a fair bit of weight, so that's good. They noticed some thickening of the intestines, so they want her to have an ultrasound to see if the cause is IBD or lymphoma. Sigh...

OK, totally random, but...one of the few republicans I still have on my FB feed is a friend from college, who very rarely posts about politics--mostly just to say he'll be appearing on Fox or CNN or whatever, and sometimes about his wife/kids/etc (his wife does some very interesting and non-partisan law stuff). Interestingly, his wife is from India. He's a very white redhead. Their older daughter clearly takes after her mom. But he just posted a picture of the younger daughter (he hadn't posted in several months, since she was quite little) and she seems to be blonde and blue eyed. I just....gotta wonder how weird that will be for the two kiddos. One will have so much more privilege than the other....and will their dad even see that?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Up to 14 staff at my parent's place that have tested positive. Still no residents. Parents are going out even less, but Dad had Dr appt today.

Through contact tracing anyone who has had contact with an infected staff person is being put on apartment 2 week quarantine. They are hoping to avoid that.

really not liking the daily total of employees affected going up. Every single positive employee has shown no symptoms from what they are telling us.

That seems so strange, and is certainly alarming. I hope the "no residents" part keeps happening.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

msbelle, if the staff protocol is anything like the one we have, staff have to be masked up for all resident interaction. The few infections we've had have been through private aides who do the bathing, dressing, feeding et cetera for the people who need the highest level of 'assisted living', except for one person, a staff accountant who spends about an hour and a half on public transport and rarely deals with a resident.

We all get temp checked upon coming into work.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

On an oral course of steroids, and I was happy I fell asleep last night without trouble.

So then I woke up at 5:30.

Our wings are not tired.

DH tested Tuesday and he is negative. He is in medical offices almost every day, but is very careful, always masked and takes care with his hands. Our practices are super diligent too, but suffering from staffing shortages. One practice has several people out in self-quarantine because they have family members infected. The staff test often, and all are negative, but they have to isolate when the people in their lives test positive.

This is daily life.

Theo - I think most if not all of the staff that are testing positive are actual staff. They are all masked (medical) masks and once tested positive cannot return until cleared by county government.

Staff are getting tested every week. Residents I think have all been tested twice now. Some of the positive tests are not even coming from these tests, but from outside tests the employees seek out because they found out about possible exposure or had some light symptoms, I guess.

I know they are being very careful as an organization. My parents' thought overly careful, but I think now they understand how quickly it can escalate. The staff has exposure to much more of the outside world and there are a lot of careless jackholes.
