Oh no! Say you are not surrounded by Republicans! No one wants to listen to the hostile language.

Fortunately all the neighbors that stopped to say hi kept their distance. It seems to be a sit out in the front yard and chat with passers-by kind of neighborhood. The next door neighbor let us know her mother was 3 doors down, her friend who brought her to the area around the block, and 2 more cousins lived in the development. She was Hispanic. My DIL is half Cuban. Lots of young people, and driving out I noticed a Black Lives Matter bumper sticker. There was an Indian couple (her very pregnant) out walking too, so I'm thinking a generally diverse pocket in a generally Red county. It seems as the push north from very expensive Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach areas into this county has tilted the political environment somewhat.
That sounds very nice, Laura!
I'm so happy for them. Tonight and apparently every Friday night they have a mini block party thing where they have a fire bowl in the middle of the street. BYOB and lawn chair thing. Also, not living in my house!!!
Black coffee; I had some trepidation about eating out for the first time but felt better watching the staff take care with each vacated table wiping down chairs and tables with spray. Also well spaced outside seating was good.
What's weird in my neighborhood is that the outdoor seating is mostly just on the sidewalk. So the tables are stretched out down the block, but I'm still walking right on top of them!
yeah - I am not thrilled with the outside seating on the sidewalk. There is a place up the block that I have not eaten at yet - it is Mexican food and they have a back patio. I am still going to stick with doing pick up and bringing home.
ION - work on my new garage door started today!! EXCITE! I need to pull $$ from my account so I need to call my $$ guy today.
This restaurant was pretty much all outside. There was a covered area near the bar (which allowed no seating), but there were no walls so breezes came through from the river. I think all they did was space the tables more. Inside meant covered and outside not, but really it was all outdoors. We have a lot of restaurants that are designed to be outdoors.

Ugh yeah. That's a problem here. Places that didn't have outdoor seating BECAUSE THERE'S NO ROOM ON THE SIDEWALK are setting up tables and making it impossible to safely pass.
I am tempted to book a table at the "nice" restaurant down by the waterfront (scare quotes because the food has never been more than just fine, and their cocktails are THE WORST, but you can't beat the view) because they are one of the only places in town that was set up for outdoor seating pre-pandemic, so it isn't just a bunch of chairs moved out onto the sidewalk.
