RED ALERT! My coworker just asked me if I read THAT website.

Are we talking about TVTropes?

I told some folks on a private Slack channel about the faked death of the were-monkey last week. They were appropriately horrified.

As for meetings, my small team has a daily 8AM meeting where my boss confirms we're all still healthy and then we usually talk a little about work issues. It's not bad. Today we talked about the proposed reopening plan, which involves two "teams" that alternate weeks in the office.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Are we talking about TVTropes?

That's it.

Congrats, Matt! That's wonderful!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Today we talked about the proposed reopening plan, which involves two "teams" that alternate weeks in the office.

That's what my office is doing, with about half of everyone still working from home for various reasons (like me, for example)

A while back NBC came out with a Who What Where When Wine tumbler, and in a moment of feeling like I had money I ordered it. They sent e a WTFork tumbler, which is cute and apropos for pretty much anything these days, but wasn't what I ordered, so I sent them and email and had a pleasant correspondence with their customer srvice people and my replacement Who What etc tumbler came today. I would like it to be known, for the record, I have NOT filled it with wine yet. Working. And it's, like 10 am. SUCH RESTRAINT

Because books.

Awesome, Matt!

Toddson, that needs to be a movie of the week or something. So sweet.

the faked death of the were-monkey last week

It still amazes that this is, like, actually a thing we went through.

-t, I once saw a glass that had a quote from, I believe, Dorothy Parker: "I'll have one martini, two at the most, three and I'm under the table, four and I'm under the host" (martini glass, of course)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Congrats, Matt!! That is awesome.

You are a paragon.

We just got a message encouraging us to use our vacation time, if not actually reduce our schedule and pay, because they aren't going to do furloughs, which seems crazy. I mean, I get the terrible optics of my employer furloughing people, but we are literally paying people who can't work!

Very professional, much restraint.

I have a call in 10 minutes with a contractor about their bid. I want to just accept it, except they proposed $X for Task 1 and $Y for Task 2 -- and I costed $Y for Task 1 and $X for Task 2. So even though the total would be the same, and they're the experts, I have to negotiate with them. Bleah.

Government contracting is the worst, and it would be easier if my coworker were... more effective at her job. Sigh.
