You were very nearly devoured by a giant demon snake. The words 'let that be a lesson' are a tad redundant at this juncture.

Our wings are not tired.

I went with the mashed potatoes for the gravy and carby people, but am not having bread stuffing, instead doing the cauliflower variety. My son is the picky one. He will eat turkey and rolls. No gravy, no butter, no salt & pepper. He is a totally plain eater. No doubt the inlaws will bring desserts which will meet his criteria too, although he doesn't do pie. He is so weird, also absurdly skinny.

I love tons of side dish options, but I'm just not having enough people to warrant that this year.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Turkey gravy is also excellent on rice--either white or brown. I'm just saying, as a person forbidden potatoes and biscuits and/or rolls, but very fond of gravy.

I'm invited to the neighbors' to whom I will be taking a bottle of their favorite (and mine!) red in, ahm, thanks. Because she's an amazing cook. And they always invite the most *interesting* conversationalists.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I wonder if I'll ever be able to take over holiday meals? We host family Christmas Eve and my mother's in charge of dinner, for as long as she wants to be, I guess.

Maybe I could just invite people for Easter myself! Basically I want to eat ham, and my mother never does.

Just got a nice helping of stress that I can't talk about. Ugh. Not what I'm needing these days.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

It's just me and the DH. He's eating keto on doctor's orders, so that made for a little figuring. We're having brined turkey breast and broccoli, for both of us, and stovetop stuffing and mashed potatoes for me. he is also making some riced cauliflower for gravy for himself. I'm buying one slice of pumpkin pie at our local gourmet market. The DH makes a mean turkey and gravy, so,I'm looking forward to it. It's our first thanksgiving with just us two, but I think it'll be lovely. We might consume a little weed beforehand to make the food even more scrumptious—we did that once with friends and it was a perfect for a holiday all about eating and enjoying the company!

OTOH, the Arcade machine is nearly done. Some touching up and minor details only. The marquee is just a placeholder.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got LDB'ed this morning. Yes, someone in the lab was playing a Christmas playlist before Thanksgiving. The only tiny bit of mitigation is that it was Joan Jett's cover.

brillig

Does that count before Thanksgiving?
