I just got into it with a co-worker on facebook about him posting a "where was the outrage then?" meme about this case of a black immigrant cop shooting a white woman: [link]
This was probably not a good idea from a harmonious work environment standpoint, but I'm out of fucks to give.
I made homemade wheat thins this afternoon. That was about as productive as I'm capable of being.
are they better than regular wheat thins, Consuela?
I made cupcakes and frosting, and brought it to friends. Then went to the store on the way back, but it was a poor choice, they were out of almost everything I wanted.
I'm just horrified by all the responses I'm seeing of people who are like "well the protestors deserved the violence the police were handing out". Which...wow.
I'm grateful I'm not seeing anything like that but I'm not surprised it's out there at this point.
I got a little done today, a little tidying, took out the garbage and got the can down to the street. I feel pretty useless, so I guess I should remember the little I am accomplishing?
Officers from the fucking county sheriff's office took down the American flag in front of the county justice center downtown and replaced it with the thin blue line flag. In broad daylight. There are photos of them doing it. That is horrifyingly authoritarian. I am disgusted.
Hope whoever's running against your sheriff next election got a good copy of that to run in their campaign ads.
He lost in the March primary (moved to April b/c of the coronavirus). What's more, he lost 30%-70%, after having won 2 consecutive terms as sheriff.
I am not sorry to see him go.
Skipped today's family Zoom because I just can't interface with conservatives today. I'm weak. Then at 8:30 pm we got an automated robot call that the East Bay is on high alert due to protest activities and were advised to stay home. Like I would do anything else when it's almost time to get into bed and read awhile.
There is a second white bunny rabbit in my neighborhood. This one was sitting across the street and did not have the dark spot on the back. DH got to see it too so we are foolishly pleased at our nature sighting.
I haven't been this paralyzed by news in a long time. I just can't.
I'm so sorry, Buffistas. My heart is breaking for what I'm seeing.
And I'm sorry for my country's part in it (the training).
