I woke up feeling defeated this morning. So much hate and pain inflicted on the Black community. Police acting like a military force. And no, NO leadership from the top. We went for a long drive, but it hasn't helped much. This is a dark time in history.
I'm a single undead gal trying to make it in the big city. I have to start somewhere and they're evil here. They don't judge. They've got necro-tempered glass. No burning up. A great medical plan, and who needs dental more than us?

I'm fine here, and the Greater Camberville area (which includes Boston et cet) seems to be doing fine.
My serenity is seriously compromised by an eyewitness (somebody connected to a bunch of us Buffistas on Facebook) who saw a large number of cars driving around Minneapolis without plates -- there are real provocateurs out there.
And then there are the police departments that still somehow believe that the correct action to a peaceful protest is tear gas, rubber bullets, et al -- just what you want to make things worse.

Had remote book club today, it was nice to see folks—it's mostly folks I don't even see online much, so that chatting with acquaintances thing is something I haven't had for months, it feels like? Also had a teeny bottle of Prosecco, for my solo mimosa.

Dropped my son and GF at the West Palm Beach protest near Trump Tower. Sorry, it is over 90 out and I just can't. He brought a gallon jug of water and they wore masks. I drove back A1A and there were about 20 copy cars within a mile or so of Mar-A-Lago (N&S&E&W of property). I didn't think he would be there when it is so hot out, but maybe since he was down here for the launch he stayed. It could be they were just there in case the protests head that way.

It was a night last night. I woke up to someone banging on my door saying another person was trying to steal stuff outside. I have nothing much outside, and he was scaring the living daylights out of me, so I just stayed in place until he went away. This morning, my stuff (hoe, rake, chair) was still there.

I just got off a Skype call with my family. It was lovely to see everyone again, and kinda sad to acknowledge that we won't be getting together this summer.
I also had homemade blueberry pie for dinner. That was an excellent choice and I'm glad I made it.
