Timelies all!
Ugh. Mr. S's clock starting playing the nighttime routine around 5:15 this morning(he likes to randomly reset it), followed by the wakeup music. Of course, that meant that he starting yelling for someone to open his door around 6:30. He won't get dressed either. Bleah.
Oh, no, Consuela! I'm sorry to hear that.
Argh. The police used pepper spray at the protests at the Ohio Statehouse, and one state representative, a black woman named Joyce Beatty, was sprayed. There are a bunch of articles about it. This guy I know has been commenting on every one with something like, "As much as I'd like to pepper-spray Joyce Beatty, this is an awful escalation of violence by the police." So far, at least two people (me and another person that I saw) have called him out on this, that talking about how much he'd like to attack a black woman is really not what he wants to be doing if he's trying to claim that he's fighting violence against black people, and he's brushed us both off with, "Yeah, I get your point, but she's a total garbage human being."
Dude. You are not helping.
Two wrongs never have made a right. All of this is just painful.
In better news. Looks good for launch this afternoon.
He says that he values and appreciates my perspective, and he considers it a kindness and a gift of grace.
This is kind of a thing with him -- he'll listen to someone say stuff like that, and give a whole bit about thanking us for our emotional labor and sharing our perspective with someone whose privilege has made him unaware of certain things, and then he just keeps doing the same crap over again.
Woot! Spacey stuff! So nice to see it launch. All I could see from the driveway was the second stage momentary flash but watched it all on television.
Seattle is under curfew, 200 members of the National Guard have been mobilized and Colman Dock terminal is closed - Seattle-bound ferry service is suspended.
It's dark. Now I feel uneasy for the cities.
