Get up...get up, you stupid piece of... What did you do that for? What's wrong with you? Didn't you hear a word he said? All of you! You think there's someone just going to drop money on you?! Money they could use?! Well, there ain't people like that. There's just people like me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

So I barely did anything at the con this weekend. (Went to a concert and songwriters showcase from the musical guests, the Chromatics. Also went to the Masquerade.)

Don't know what got into Mr. S this weekend to make him so wild.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

WHINE ALERT!

My allergies are BAD. nose is running, throat is sore, cough is intermittent but persistent and ouchy. My eyes re watering and my whole body is generally achy. oh and occasional very strong sneezes that come on with almost no warning.

Add to that my pinched sciatic nerve which last night started with shooting pains down my leg and eases up only to attack again when I dare shift positions and or lift that leg.

I know my lung capacity is already diminished, but this just started 2 days ago and that is way too fast for bronchitis to set so I am FIGHTING IT. I am drinking all the water, tea with local honey (supposed to help with allergies), have taken my 24 hour allergy medicine, plus the cedar specific drops, and now I am headed to the shower to hopefully get any pollen in my hair out and gone as well as steam my head and lungs. I guess a neti pot also to try and de-gunkify my sinuses.

I do not know if I can build a pillow contraption to where I can sleep on my stomach and have my face face downward like a massage table, but I may also try that. If I have another night of draining into my throat I will likely not have a voice tomorrow.

I also need to eat, but everything seems like work and in my head I think it will all make me more congested - does dairy stuff do that? am I making things up?

I hate everything.

Homemade stroganoff tonight, not bad. I used the pre-sliced beef meant for cheese steak sandwiches, and it cooked up beautifully. I need some mushroom bouillon because I hate the texture of actual mushrooms.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I had a voice teacher advise us to abstain from dairy before signing because it's supposed to increase phlegm, but I don't know if that's actually true.

I got the same advice about dairy before concerts in school back in the 70s.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I don't think it actually produces phlegm, but it coats the vocal cords.

Aha, apparently thickens mucus rather producing more phlegm, probably still not great for congestion [link]

Anyway, I hope you get some relief, msbelle.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

One of my favorite memories is living near the I-Beam and a car alarm going off all night. Suddenly I hear breaking glass, the alarm was turned off... and the whole neighborhood hung out their windows and cheered.

That is a great story! When I lived in Boston it was very common to have a car alarm go off alllllll night long.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So SFUSD has decided to give the entire week of Thanksgiving off, which means Matilda is happily sleeping in this morning.

But I'm going to give her an ultimatum: either create a playdate with friends or help me clean house in prep for Thanksgiving. I'm sure she'd rather go hang out with Norah and Davi than wash out the crisper bins in the tub.

Both she and JZ got belated birthday presents from JZ's dad: brand new Apple laptops! It's Matilda's first computer and she actually needs one since she's in digital arts (aka, Film class) as her elective at school. Mostly though she wants to sit with it and her headphones on and watch 9,000 YouTube videos.

I have warned her already that screentime will be limited but we'll so how hardass I'm going to be when she's off all week.

ION, I'm kind of bummed that Fantastic Beasts is getting crap reviews.

On the plus side, our Giapetta Project is meeting with John Nee this morning. His job title is: Publisher, Marvel. Give us some money, dammit! You have way more than you need.
