I don't think I've been anywhere since the restrictions changed here, don't know how people are behaving.
I finished my work day, took a cool shower, and am lying down in the dark. I can't quite point the fan right at me but it's moving the air around a little. Bearable this way.
A black widow bite as a toddler resulted in horrible painful surgeries for my uncle and being lame all his life. The doctors told my grandparents he was lucky to have survived it.
Yikes!
Masks are required here in every store, and no one is really questioning it. Although I have had a few customers say they "forgot" when they come into the bakery (and I immediately inform that masks are required). Only one guy refused to leave and held the neck of his t-shirt over his mouth while ordering.
I don't wear my in the car but I will put it on when I'm getting takeout from the person in the window. I usually put it on while walking the dog, too.
Just curious, about how many people wear masks when you are at a store these days?
It's required here, but also the level of enforcement varies pretty widely -- at the grocery store, pretty much everyone is masked, but at Home Depot/Lowes, it's probably more like 75% (which is already enough to give me screaming anxiety). And we're in uptight liberal-ville, by NC standards -- looks like down around the coast, they've ditched the whole idea.
Required here too—I'd say maybe 50-75% while walking around (but that includes folks who aren't near anyone, I can just see them further down the block?) but 95% when in the supermarket? I've only gone there and one trip to target, where I think inside most everyone had a mask but outside there were some folks who didn't, hanging around in the parking garage
Oh, I went to Home Depot weekend before last and I think everyone was in masks. I remember being pleased to see that.
mr. flea went to the hospital today to have a stress test and he was happy to report that everyone was very thoroughly masked. The grocery store is much more variable; I'd say less than 2/3, and we go really early in the morning when nerds shop.
Required in MA, I do see some street-type people without them, and some runners with a mask around their necks.
The other morning I walked out of my house in a bit of early morning brain haze, and felt suddenly naked when I realized I hadn't put it on.
Oh, the jerky guy from down the street has been sitting on his front stoop, which is literally 3 feet from the sidewalk without a mask. I'm thinking of getting some sidewalk chalk and writing PLAGUE HOUSE on his sidewalk when it's early and there's no one to see.

flea, do you go to Clifton Market or the horrific Kenard Kroger? (I hate that Kroger so much; it's why we drive to Meijer in Oakley to grocery shop.)
Mostly Kenard Kroger, which honestly at 8am in the rain is fine. I know people hate that store but I've never had any issues. And in fact I had a bad experience with a fellow shopper at Clifton Market the last time we went, and they really don't have everything we need consistently.
I see a lot of people out and about not wearing their mask (mostly when they are the only person on the block, eg), but pretty much everyone at least has one they are more or less prepared to pull up.
