'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yikes. Massachusetts just issued an opening roadmap with some dates for Phase 1 that on the whole seem quite sensible. And being the state we are, businesses have to fill out a detailed form as to the measures they're taking before they're allowed to open, such as distance between work stations and et cetera.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Oh dear. Looks like a subject I thought would be easy peasy to write a final paper about turned out to be kindda nightmarish to frame to officials even though they agree with the logic (it's the terminology they find hard to understand). I did not foresee that and now thinking what the hell I got myself into, but at least it is interesting and I'll get to practice my presentation skills. yay...?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Has any state unveiled a re-opening plan that prioritizes childcare? It boggles my mind how anyone thinks people can go back to work if their kids are still home all day!!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Has any state unveiled a re-opening plan that prioritizes childcare? It boggles my mind how anyone thinks people can go back to work if their kids are still home all day!!

This is a nightmare--our YMCA kept their childcare open throughout the shutdown to provide care for essential and medical personnel, but considering how many private childcare operations and providers have closed, there is no possible way we can have open without providing support for childcare.

Of course, that means there isn't any. And we are still screwed (well, those that have to go to work and leave kids at home.)

Our county exec fired off a summary that makes me feel better about voting for him, but enrages me at the WI Supreme Court. Seriously, the GOP Assembly requested the order be overturned but THEY requested a 6 day stay to provide clarification and modified instruction for the whole state.

Instead, the Court overturned the order and nullified the stay. Which is why the bars flooded with people Wednesday night.

STOOPID Robin Vos should have had his own set of restrictions ready instead of relying on the stay and expecting the Governor, whom he despised, to come up with more ideas to save the people of Wisconsin.

ooops. Seems I had extra rage with my coffee this morning.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't want to work anymore. Can someone cover my mortgage and bills for a few months while I do laundry and wash dishes? That would be swell.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A friend just suggested to our friend with a five year old that they just drop her off at the zoo, since that will be open!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

there is no possible way we can have open without providing support for childcare.

Every day is bring your daughter (or son) to work day!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Thanks everyone for the hand sanitizer stuff. I will PM you Cashmere, because that sort of seems the easiest.

We are "most likely" not having in person didactic education in the fall. This is so stressful. There are ways to do good online classes, but this is not it. If you are going online you need to plan for actual online education. And some things do not compute that way—- how do people conduct a health assessment that is in person while maintaining 6 foot distance!?!

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah, my governor also put out a roadmap for moving forward. It's pretty well 100% focused on what can open when, to the point that even under the final "new normal (No Disruption)" step, you still stay 6 feet away from people you don't live with. There's also a lot of real vague terminology "physical distancing and safe practices" vs "open with adjusted safe practices" vs "fully open with safe practices." Are those explained? No. But the graphics are real pretty, so it's fine.
