Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I honestly would have guessed cats to be better natural fencers than that.

Murderbuscuit likes to think he's a good fencer. (SPOILER: he's not.)

msbelle, we need to plan a co-vacation day. We can go to Valley View on a weekday and plant up, a respectfully masked 6' apart. And/or walk part of Herring run at not-my-breakneck-pace at a random time.

My last couple weeks have been a mess thanks to work computer problems + ish. Took some of it as admin to MAKE THEM PAY (aka, document it was IT inflicted), part sick when I didn't sleep (boss made noises about converting to admin, since related), part vacation when it was pure fuckthisshit on my part.

But I need to take a break that isn't a result of disaster.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, but if you try to tell him that, he murderizes you.

I also made steak! Not really as successful but totally edible. and had roasted shredded Brussels sprouts (pre-shredded; they get nice and crispy) and tater tots. Was going to have bread but found it had a tiny bit of mold and was so annoyed. Now drinking a Paloma and wishing I had cookies. Maybe tomorrow I'll make cookies and freeze dough.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

!!!David!!! Dying of envy here! Wow, congrats.

I copied Consuela's comment about the admin never surrendering control and was gonna add to it. I can absolutely imagine King Donald, or Emperor Donald, whichever he decides on, and his line of heirs, Jared, and Jared and Ivanka's kid, the dynasty ensured.

Isn't there some way we can just...ignore these people? Civil disobedience--they amend a standing law to harm more people and steal more money, we say, not doing that. Stop paying taxes to the fed and put that money toward local civic needs, infrastructure, health care, support at grass roots level? I mean without incoming taxes they can only squander what they already have their greasy hands in--why do we have to send them more? Short of a guillotine, I don't see any other way to behead the dreadful wyrm that is this administration.

Herding cats for fun

Unexpected adventure in the garden this morning! I am sitting in bed reading news on my iPad. DH has gone out to look at the sunshine. I hear jingling noises, look out, and there is a big Husky dog trotting around the garden! It runs off to the neighbors. We say, wow! Didn't expect that at all. Then she came back looking for pets, so I quickly grabbed a leash and the phone and called the number on her name tag, which read Luna. Left voicemail and start to worry about what we can do if we don't get an answer. Walked Luna around the house and let her get a drink from the cat pond.

Then her owner, sounding very sleepy, calls and says he's our neighbor from down the street and will come get her. We wait on the front lawn, and she rolled over to show me her belly. You bet I pet that dog! The owner cons jogging down the street, to the delight of his dog. He thanks us profusely and we say we are glad to get a happy ending so quickly.

So I got to fulfill a bucket list wish of returning a lost dog to her person. It feels great!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

!!!David!!! Dying of envy here! Wow, congrats.

I think I'll get a second copy so I can share it around.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It's far too cold for May here. (Yeah, I know. At least there's no snow.) Also tired because I woke up at 4, and then at 6 and so on.(Got out of bed around 8:30)
