due South! How marvelous JZ. That's a lovely show. My only complaint is that no way is hell is Dief an actual wolf, and I think he's played by at least two different Siberian huskies over the course of the show.
My friend's mom is apparently a HUGE OG fan, and her greatest claim to fame is that the cast and crew saw some of her fanart and she got flown up to Canada and through a series of improbable events found herself spending several weeks teaching an actual Mountie the art of portraiture. The main room in her apartment is full of RIDICULOUSLY good sketches of Paul Gross, and she has a large stash of original scripts.
It's so charming it is almost slaying me. We just finished the episode with a very young Jane Krakowski, and I am utterly bowled over by how effortlessly she nailed the Bringing Up Baby era Kate Hepburn/everything Carole Lombard ever did screwball comedy vibe. That is in no way an easy thing to do without coming across as somewhere between obnoxious and odious, but she made it look as easy as breathing. I know she's successful and content in both her monetary rewards and her creative endeavors, but why is she not an internationally recognized screwball romcom goddess?
due South is the best JZ! I hope it provides good fun and enjoyment.
I recall original pilot Diefenbaker looking reasonably feral, but yeah, the dogs they used through the rest of the series were the fluffiest, best-groomed, friendliest looking "wolves" in television history.
Do we talk about Zoe's Extraordinary Playlist anywhere? I just caught up on the last two episodes and I kind of love the show more with each ep.
I think it could probably go in Comedy, aurelia -- it's a dramedy but definitely on the lighter side.
Tonight, it's almost all too heavy to hold anymore. Must be something in the air.
You all are making me want to watch due South! I've seen a bunch of episodes (my BF in Boston is a huge fan) but it was ages ago. Is it streaming anywhere?
I just decided, for my own comfort TV, to dive into Star Trek (TNG). Again, I've seen a few, but so long ago I have basically no memory of them. I'll probably skip a bunch in the first season at least. I found an io9 guide to the best episodes that I'll probably stick pretty close to, but if anyone else wants to recommend must-watch eps, I'd love to hear it!
I don't think I've seen Due South at all. Hm.
Hmm, my board profile here has like two years worth of DS taglines.
