"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

It's raining here which means the WiFi is being wonky and TCG won't be able to take ltc outside when he gets home. I'm very depressed today, and can't do anything to shake it off.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Shopping for work was almost civilized, both in terms of volume -- only about 10 requests for a couple items each -- and in store craziness. Except that I had to go to two stores in order to find Half & Half that wasn't fat-free.

(Side-note: what is the point of fat-free Half & Half? Shouldn't it just be called Half?)

On the down side, the second round of Trump Plague testing came back, and five residents were quarantined with it. I am strongly hoping this means that they were largely asymptomatic and will have mild and hardly noticeable illnesses... but that's not the way to bet. Here's hoping.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Fingers crossed for your quarantined residents, Theo.

Fat-free half and half is an oxymoron, isn't it?

Can I get through this conference call without crying? Maybe bursting into tears would be a good move, actually, but I'm still going to try not to.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I'm trying to write up notes from a conference call that took place last Thursday. A lot of it didn't make sense anyway (I didn't have the info they kept referring to, although I could find it later) and I was bored out of my mind. That, and with the intervening time and drama, and I'm finding myself even more bored. This is one thing in my job that I really hate ... it's boring, it's tedious, but it saves my boss being bogged down with it.

Thrive to spite them

We had country ribs last night and I had accidentally taken too much out so today I chopped them up, added onions, carrots and celery and the country ribs to the crock pot, threw in some shisito peppers because I need to finish those up, seasoned it with some cumin, paprika, bay leaf, thyme, oregano and a few other things and let it cook away. I didn't trim the fat enough so I had to add some things, added a little Worcestershire , a bit of red wine vinegar, and I've just turned it to warm and threw in some cilantro and green onions while the rice cooks. I thought of the rice after I threw in the cilantro and green onions otherwise I would have waited.

Tastes pretty nice. Needs some corn bread but we are out of milk.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I've been home today and yesterday.(My on days this week are Thursday and Friday) We've had the nanny in for a few hours both days since Gary had a webinar yesterday and some conference calls today, and I have work to do.(Mostly data editing, but it's something to do.) Still tired.

My niece asked if I wanted something from teh good local grocery store, so I asked for organic cheese curls, apples, and spreadable butter. I'm such a fucking snowflake.

My weekly food delivery order is on its way. 8 substitutions for those playing along at home. I can't get any ground pork or ground meatloaf mix to make a bolognese.
