Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I don't quite get the sudden mass brainworm to jump from "I never make bread and now I'm going to do the big commitment version"

I think at least some of that is "I can't find yeast anywhere so let's try capturing my own"?

I forgot I ordered wasabi with my lunch and just ate the whole wad of it in one bite thinking it was some other salad-y thing. Oops.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

In regard to the sourdough thing, it could be that people are finding bread out of stock in the stores. Or, when I have a snow day, I have the urge to bake bread ... although (1) there hasn't been a snow day for over a year and (2) I used to bake a lot, but haven't for some time.

Punishingly Intricate

2 weeks ago I managed some fresh stuff in my Aldi delivery, but from what I am hearing the larger markets are just way more wiped out.

Mom's has had plenty of fresh produce when I go on Friday morning. And of course you know the Farmer's Market is up and running! Plus Charmington's is doing produce and other grocery sales. We're really fortunate here.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I bought a fair bit of yeast after I bought a bread bowl (a bowl in which you bake bread, not a mixing bowl). But if I hadn't, I'd be leaning toward sourdough. 'Cause I love the scent of baking bread and I definitely have the time at home to take care of it.

Our wings are not tired.

Yikes! Wasabi is not lettuce.

You guys made me hungry so I made soup & salad for lunch. I'm skipping breakfast because I have gained so much the past couple months and want to try and do 2 meals a day. Since I do so love my oatmeal that will be dinner. Bigger meal at lunch and breakfast for dinner the next few days and we'll see how it goes.

When I went out yesterday it was the 3rd pair of long pants I tried on that actually fit. Ugh.

Food doesn't seem to be an issue, although honestly I have only been to the store once in the past month. The family seems to be bringing home enough fresh items and I have frozen items already. SIL drove through a CSA type dealio that had boxes of mixed veggies and fruits and gave us a bunch of stuff from that too. She is sending us the info on where it is located. Flat rate $10 or $20 boxes. It was lovely. Yellow tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, berries - and that was just her rejected or excess stuff she dropped to us!

I have to say people I do see are quite compliant with the masks, although some not so much with distancing. But it is hard to know if the walkers/bikers/runners are family units.

I'm supposed to get my delivered vegetables today or tomorrow. That'll be exciting. I think I'm supposed to get eggs with that, as well, but who knows what will actually come - even the CSA is doing substitutions and running out of stuff. I'm on my last half a roll of toilet paper, so I guess I'll be going to a store in the next few days, maybe a couple of stores, I'm not sure what the probability of actually finding some is around here.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S has been horrible most of this week. It hasn't helped that Gary has had a lot of conference calls so I've been doing most of the wrangling. Mr. S has continued to take things off my dresser. We found a bunch of boxes and jewelry(much of which he broke) under his dresser. He also somehow broke the remote for the tv in the living room. Did I mention that I'm supposed to be doing work from home? sigh...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The delivery service said they had yeast today, but they didn't. I got almost everything else.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I went into work today and had a really nice chat with a co-worker from any division within my department. She was in the hall while I was in my office.

Guys, no surprise really, BUT I MISS SEEING PEOPLE!! I feel like a million times better just from getting to talk to someone without a rush or an agenda or connection issues.

Oh well, back home now and about to start sewing.

Thrive to spite them

I miss seeing people too. I miss the interactions at work and the rhythm of it. There are a few regular customers I really miss seeing. And having different conversations. Plus we got a new head of asset protection (security) that I never got to meet and I'm curious about them.

I ended up having a pretty good day. Figured out my headset will work with my phone,it's bulky and wouldn't be comfortable if I was out taking a long walk but for laps around the yard it worked. Made dinner-- burritos.

And then I had helped Matthew's mom order candles for his sister in laws birthday and bath & body works accidentally sent a double order so she is going to give us one of the candles.

New fragrance in the house! Something different!

Also his aunt came by and took our trash off to the dump so his Mom didn't have to stress about the neighbor. And I spent a lot of time pacing/walking laps in the backyard which was really nice and relaxing and I need to do that a lot more.
