I ran over to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription....and saw a woman wearing a mask, but smoking a cigarette at the same time. Like, I'm not exactly clear how she was slipping the cig under the mask, but I was like "...aren't these things contradicting each other?"

Thrive to spite them

Also my anxiety brain is trying to tell me I 'm not going to get the stimulus check. I don't know why but I just feel convinced that they are going to find an issue with my taxed and withhold it even though I know that isn't true.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Happy birthday to the Lilybean! 15 ... O.O

Cashmere, if you want some suggestions for parents working with kids who have ADHD, hit me up -- I'm happy to point you towards resources, and speak to my own experience.

I didn't think I had to be actively looking for work because I was furloughed with the pandemic.

Unfortunately the regulations for unemployment remain the same regardless of the situation at large.

But "reporting your job hunting activity" can be as simple as reporting that you contacted your employer (whether or not you got through!) about your furloughed job, and you can report the same thing every week. Revising the resume, confirming references, browsing for other jobs -- all these count, are super low key, and can be repeated with every reporting cycle.

and saw a woman wearing a mask, but smoking a cigarette at the same time.

that engenders ennui in me.

I managed to get into a flow and put 5 hours of work in! It's been *so hard* to get my brain into work mode here at home. I work remotely plenty, but I'm usually doing it somewhere outside my house! Hopefully I can keep this streak going all week.

Ok they waived the requirement to apply for jobs but you still have to be willing to work. Which I finally found that information so I severely messed up when I filled out the form and now I can't fix it. Their fAQ is buried . So I guess at this point it will be denied and I have to go from there. I'll call tomorrow and hope I can get in the phone queue and just wear stuff with pockets and keep my phone on me.

I don't get why you have to be available to work but then they aren't requiring you to job hunt. It just seems like a half way measure. Athough I'm sure I'm not the only person who didn't understand this and messed up . I got the letter that has a date from 3 days ago and I had to respond in 5 days of the date so I just filled it out the best I could.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Unfortunately the regulations for unemployment remain the same regardless of the situation at large.

Not in Texas. They normally require 4 work search contacts per week, but that went to 0 as of today (I think).

IU thin I can scratch trying to do anything tomorrow. I am going to try to get back in the phone queue for the unemployment office but I did take my anti anxiety medicine because my brain has decided to spiral me into-- I've fucked this up completely and will get no money and how could I be so stupid and not be able to find the answers or understand the difference

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

You are not stupid. It is super complicated and the information is hard to find or understand.

Our wings are not tired.

What Jesse said. I hope you can get it fixed tomorrow.

Intellectually I know that but all my anxiety just.. makes it hard to remember. I know they have people who are struggling with this and it's just hard because I can't get in touch with anyone. I'm feeling calmer so maybe the medicine is working because I stopped myself from spiraling. So points for that I guess.
