I discovered that I have a phobia that I didn't heretofore known about: getting things up my nose.
I gotta say whenever they show that test on the television I shudder so I suspect I won't care for it either if I need to get tested at some point. (I imagine my medical offices will want to test me before they let me come back in to train them on stuff)
Ooh for the covid test, Theo? I've heard it's hardcore.
A good friend of mine just got unexpectedly furloughed for 8 weeks (and may end up being more) after being told this morning that she was having a 25% pay cut. Way to make the pay cut not seem so important? Yikes.
Got hours of heavy rain last night but not much wind. Tornado watch just south of here, but none actually happened. Still raining off and on today. As long as the roof holds and nothing blows away, let it rain.
I think I totally messed up my unemployment claim and there is no way to get through to anyone right now, there is just a message to go on the website or call back later. ARGH. blech.
ok and I got a letter in the mail, my benefits have been stopped over an issue with me being able and available to work. I didn't think I had to be actively looking for work because I was furloughed with the pandemic. It would be nice to have more information about how to navigate all of this but the phone number in the letter is the same one that I tried to call. I went on the website and tried to fill out the information as best as I could. There was a spot to actually write info so I just wrote basically what I wrote here I don't know what will happen.
I think with the record number of claims, every state must be slammed. I still haven't received anything from PA in the mail, and my window to file closed on Friday. I've been calling the number and never get anything but a busy signal.
I'm hoping they'll get the backlog cleared soon, and in the meantime I just have to wait, I guess? In other words, I feel you, askye. Unemployment benefits aren't easy to navigate normally, and right now they are completely snarled.
Less than a half hour after I wrote my "no wind here" post, the wind CAME ON -- skidding lawn furniture around, and on the short drive I have home, I saw two major branches down off of trees with the DPW crews attempting to deal.
In case anyone wants to practice up for the virus test, take a Qtip and jam it up your nose as far as it goes... then push it in further.
Well, OK, I've had much worse dental and medical procedures that were MUCH more painful. It was me mostly going nononoNOno=eek-eek-ow, and a tech trying not to laugh.
We've had heavy rain - torrential downpour type rain - but it's coming in waves. It'll be sunny and then, not too long after, the rain's so heavy the air's almost opaque.
Timelies all!
Mr. S's PEP teacher sent a link to some educational games and such, and he's been playing them on and off. Of course, with his tendency towards getting frustrated easily, it's been a mixed bag of results.
So is there a special technique to wearing masks without fogging up your glasses?
