"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have no idea how sensible they're being. I told my grandfather not to hug my cousin and he laughed a bit.

Meanwhile our ricotta pie is chilling in the fridge. The lab is braising, the lasagna is baking, and TCG is making the pilaf.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

That sounds *delicious*, sj.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm so glad your father took the action he needed to do in advance: going through probate at any time is a nightmare, and right now! I cannot even imagine how difficult it would be.

It's an act of love to face your own mortality and spare your family that chaos. Not everyone can do it. This is your father actively present in your life, JZ. Nothing can make him all the way gone.

Thrive to spite them

Matthew's sister dropped off left overs and since what we were going to have didn't defrost in time I'm not going to complain too much. I think she did it more because their mom called and was complaining about being isolated.

Yesterday she got it in her head she needed to get the grandkids Easter presents and was going to go out searching for them but we finally talked her out of it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I am apparently regressing to age eight and making matzo pizza for dinner.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm making dairy-free pizza (made the dough yesterday) for pizza right now and it's great!

I took a walk and dropped off two masks at my BFF's, now that I have a working sewing machine again. Now that everybody at work has a cloth mask I can start filling friends' needs, so long as my elastic holds out. I'm experimenting with crocheting ties, which actually worked pretty good for my mask-wearing on my walk.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

My 92 year old grandfather and my aunt in her 70s are officially having Easter dinner with my cousin, the nurse.

My presumed COVID positive sister is in the middle of her 14-day quarantine at home but invited every neighborhood kid/family to come get Easter pictures at her house. She's gonna wipe down the large fluffy bunny with Clorox wipes between kids.

My brother and his wife drove up from Orange County to Palm Springs, then came up to visit her parents (they live just a few houses away from me) for drive-in Easter service. Then they wanted to stop and visit here. Told them at least ten feet away, from outside. Then they're back to stepmom and step-stepdad's for Easter dinner. Oh, and my bro and sis-in-law watch their grandtwins all of the time. The ones who are eight months old.

That entire side of my family is why we can't have nice things. On the bright side, they brought lemons.

Thrive to spite them

On FB I saw some of my cousins were at the beach for Easter. They had to come up from Central Florida. It was just their immediate family but they still had to travel and why did they do that?
