JZ, and all your family, I'm so sorry for your loss.

It's difficult to handle, even at the best of times (oh, goodness, there's no time that's even close to being better with regards to that, but I didn't know how else to phrase this), and even harder with all that is going around in the world. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

In Jewish tradition, there is the term of "Shiva", seven days in which the close family members of the deceased are supposed to sit together and let themselves feel the grief an loss and sadness. They are being visited by their loved ones from near and far, and each visitor says something which roughly translates to how they hope for the grieving family to find some consolation, some comfort, in the times ahead. That's what I'm writing in Hebrew below. All my love.

Hello Wednesday. My DIL took the day off work and is in the garage putting air in my bike tires so we can go for a bike ride together. Walking, running, biking, all way up in my neighborhood lately. Seeing all the peoples flowing by my front window has made me want to join them, but my knee has been unhappy with me. I'm hoping the knee brace will make biking a better option. Digits crossed. If it does work out I may even be able to bike A1A and see some ocean! eta: Oh well, apparently my bike needed more than just air in the tires so maybe later. I'll try and swim again later. Yesterday I could only do 20 laps because of my stupid knee. I can only swim on my back as for some reason the angle on my knee for a breast or side stroke is super ouchy. I can likely do a lot more laps if I don't try the other positions.

Son and DIL were told last week they would cut down to 32 hours, then this week they were told 40. She figured she had to take a day off to make that happen. They are both stressed about being considered "essential" when most of the service they are doing is really quite elective. Son doesn't really see anyone but delivery people, but DIL is customer service.

JZ, David and family, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Offering what comfort I can.
