The thing about living in Texas is that your expectations of state government are so low that you're pleasantly surprised when the governor does something even vaguely helpful.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
And my sewing machine is refusing to actually sew -- the needle is moving, the cloth goes forward, but the stitch isn't locking through the fabric, something is not happening with the bobbin part of the equation. Aaargh.
Auto correct is having a field day.

And I thought, "I want to see Ayn Rand in a Leper Colony fighting off contagion with her personal responsibility."
Leprosy is hard to catch and can be readily cured. Do they still have sanitoria for tuberculosis?
Possibly there should be regular broadcasts of someone reading the first few chapters of The Stand.
And apparently even though we have 2 containers of leftovers (because I'm the only one who will eat them if they haven't been doctored) dinner still needs to be cooked because there's a pack of chicken that needs to be cooked. So I'm frustrated cooking and trying to figure out how to make a casserole thing with just cream of mushroom soup and some chicken broth and no cheese. I think I'm going to cook everything, layer it, top with panko crumbs and parmesan cheese and get it toasty on top.
And I think we have pie dough in the fridge that is still good so tomorrow maybe we can make hand pies out of my kinda picadillo I made last night. Or someone can.

I use mostly coconut milk, but occasionally soy and/or oatmilk in my baking all the time, and it turns out splendidly. As in, if I didn't tell you that it was dairy-free, you wouldn't know it.
Coconut milk would have been my first choice, but that was not an option. It's good to know that you've had success with oatmilk.
