Good update: Just talked to the ICU attending after rounds. She says his vitals all look good and his chest x-ray is totally clear. Over the next few days they'll be considering moving him off the vent to a less invasive form of support. No clear timetable yet, because they're still waiting for a lot of respiratory test results, but she said if he continues to look this good they may try him off the vent even before getting all the results.

That's the key right there. Really encouraging.
Thank you for the good news update. I'm praying that he continues to move in the right direction.
Oh, thank god, JZ. That's good news.
I know my situation is way better than many people's, but I'm having the hardest time doing anything. I need to file for the last two weeks' unemployment on Sunday, and I tried to do it today, but the state's website has completely crashed under the new load.
I also have work I could be doing. Or I could be cleaning up the house. Or anything that isn't internet and TV. But it's just not happening. I feel like I'm about 10 minutes away from a panic attack at any given time, and I don't even have any family members who are sick.
Oh no, Zmayhems!
So sorry about the bad news JZ and David, but also glad to see that it looks like the current new for JZ's father is looking up.
So guess who got time off work to get an important injection and run some errands before SA goes into PAUSE tonight, only to find he had a FLAT TIRE?
(thumbs)
Fortunately the doctor's office was very understanding, and I'm going in tomorrow.

JZ, fingers crossed the news continues to be good.
JZ, much love for you and health-ma for your dad.

That sounds really promising!
