Right, there comes a point where you have to either move on, or just buy yourself a Klingon costume and go with it.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I'm so sorry, Jessica.

Thrive to spite them

I need a drink or a massage . Or both of them. so far today I've gotten the new router set up, stopped Matthew and his Mom from fighting, set up everything I could on the new network, set up the Roku player for his Mom and got her watching Tex Ritter movies to get her away from the news.

And it's 2:30 and I agreed to make dinner but they want to eat around 4:30 (why???) and I said that if I make dinner I'm starting it around 5. We normally use their schedule for dinner and I'm claiming hte next few hours for myself.

I managed to finally get moving on my day. I printed up more worksheets for ltc and she helped me make pasta and beans with the beans we made yesterday.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

OH, Jess, I'm sorry. It's good that you got to celebrate with her on her birthday.

I just had my first video production meeting from home. Gilda was a big hit. I'm lucky both cats weren't in the office chair with me.

Jessica, I am so sorry. IIRC your grandmother is about a mile from me right now. I am thinking of her and your whole family. I am so glad you had that time last fall.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just put in a grocery delivery order. I wasn't able to get a delivery time at Meijer, so I redid my whole order at Kroger, and it's being delivered Monday. Now, need to get some prescriptions refilled at CVS, and hoping that they're allowed to deliver controlled substances. (If not, I've got a couple of friends who aren't isolating as much as I am who've said they'd pick stuff up for me if I need it.)

What is even happening?

Jessica, love to you and your whole family. I am so sorry you're going through this.

Nilly, I hope you're enjoying your first night back with your family by now.

Hang in there, Buffistas.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm so sorry, Jessica.

My parents (and brother) have been sheltering in place since pretty much the beginning of the month when we brought them a bunch of supplies from Costco. They did have their new fridge delivered (with three people in the house instead of two, they didn't have enough space, apparently, though there's a fridge in the basement, too, so IDEK), but Mom's a retired nurse and taking every precaution she can.

I really hate that I don't know when I'll next see my medically fragile octogenarian parents, gotta say.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

And-in-another-post: happy to report that Nilly reunited with her family. The kids are thrilled.

That's great! They must have flown into her arms.

Gavin Newsom has said that schools might not reopen before summer. I'm not ready for six months of no school!

Plei, I'm glad your parents are taking this seriously, and honestly I don't know how anyone survives without a second fridge/freezer. We always have both freezers filled with meats, frozen leftovers, and frozen veggies. The second fridge is usually filled with extra seltzer and dairy products.
