I'm in the office because I can't get internet access at home. I have been productive - a couple of people didn't get their office phones forwarded to their cell phones, so I could take care of that. LOTS of phone calls from people with questions who didn't know who to ask (so the phone directory didn't help); I could tell them to email the people they needed to contact. I also collected the mail (left at the front door); I'm supposed to look for incoming checks, but so far there haven't been any.
It's really quiet and, surprisingly, warm in the office; it's usually chilly. Annoyingly, our motion-activated lights keep going out because I don't move enough to keep them on. Luckily, the sun's out, so I'm basically OK.
I definitely need to be in on Friday - I have THREE Zoom meetings scheduled.
Meanwhile, in more positive news, Ryan will be in high school next year. I just got a call from them yesterday - he's been awarded a scholarship! 25% of the school fees. (It's a private school, run by Lutherans.) He's pretty thrilled. We're pretty happy about it too.
Great news! That whole Buffista cohort is going to high school next year or the year after.
My family is so far healthy except for the anxiety that this is causing. Matthew's mom still is mad the hospital here is going to be used for Covid-19 patients. She keeps saying that people are going to go visit them and then get infected and go to stores and we are all going to get it. I didn't remind her everyone will be in quarantine and can't have visitors but I did point out it's probably already here and I work in a store so I've been dragging germs home for weeks.
Her facebook friends tend to spread misinformation (not realizing it's misinformation) so she is also not even sure why they are setting up hospitals "they say on FB if it gets in your lungs you're dead. No point in even going to the hospital"
It occurred to me - one way someone could probably make some serious money - ethically - would be to develop something that would sanitize your hands without drying them out. A moisturizing sanitizer or sanitizing moisturizer.
My news blip mentioned an earthquake in Salt Lake City, and of course my first thought was if Connie felt the shake.
My doctors are all scrambling to do telemedicine since their waiting rooms are empty. Half of them are delighted with the notion of working from home.

My therapy appointment tomorrow is going to be telemedicine. That's going to be weird.
Toddson, also a quick way to sanitize the surfaces of anything coming into your home.
Just had my first Zoom meeting with my new writers group! So nice to see faces, and we added a work session in while we were on, which was also productive. So that's a nice new thing to come out of this.
You can also share documents, if you want to ... doesn't always work as well as you might like (last time, the document by boss was sharing showed up as a 1" x 2" inset in the upper corner of the screen), but it's possible. Or so they say ....
Toddson, once I get a link to out training I will share. It is probably your or their settings!
