"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, sarameg. I'm sorry.

We're up, we're dressed, and I'm reading emails while ltc works on the worksheets I printed up today (A St Patrick's Day color sheet), the letter 'B', and the number '1'). We have too many baked goods at the moment. So, I'm trying to decide what cooking project we can work on today.

Our wings are not tired.

It also says that people over 70 should stay indoors

I fail to see how a walk outdoors without kissing passersby can be a bad thing. I reject this.

This is going to be so painful for so many small businesses and workers. Not sure how the expanded unemployment and credits thing will work out. We are in uncharted territory. I do think some of the social distancing routines will remain for some time. We have been hearing about superbugs and so forth for a while and a lot of people needed to learn to wash their hands.

I don't see any difference here in restaurant use. Our main street, which is lined with outdoor eateries, seems to be as busy as ever. Beaches are theoretically closed, but not so much in reality. The newspapers show that many places have gone to take out only, but not all, and it hasn't been mandated.

This is a different kind of Spring Break in Florida for sure.

And.... I am off to vote now. Whee!

If I didn't send ltc out with TCG every day to walk or ride her bike, we'd all lose our minds. I'm considering taking a drive after TCG gets home from work today. Not going anywhere, just driving around for a bit blaring some loud music.

Thrive to spite them

Paid leave seems to be to the sticking point for some GOP to pass the House Bill. They claim they are worried it will devasate small businesses and ok I get that concern but what is also going to be devesating is when people can't pay their bills.

You have to do something.

I am worried in SC there is going to be more of a panic since we are finally doing more testing. The number of cases is going to jump and I'm worried propel will panic more but maybe they will finally take this seriously.

I'm still hearing people say the flu is worse than this. And one customer started in on how the swine flu epidemic was mishandled by the WH. I don't know why he was bringing that up but I finally told him "we are supposed to learn from our mistakes and do better the next time ".

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

My problem with learning from my mistakes is that I keep finding new ways to screw up.

I'm currently in the office - the only one - since I can't get internet access at home (long story). Our CEO stopped by because she's finding working on a laptop needs more - so she has her office keyboard, mouse and monitor. I'm enjoying some down time and visiting the Buffistas. I hope everyone stays well.

And, showing his public spirit, Chuck Tingle has a special e-book for these times.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Sophia, your idea makes a lot of sense. Unfortunately, that kind of sense seems to be in short supply these days.

As befits my INFP Myers Briggs designation, I am turning into a super ESTP in times of stress, I just want to run everything. Tell people what to do and they will do it, It is not a great look on me, but I am super bossy.

I want to take this time to say that in Rochester, why don't we just let the homeless stay in the abandoned homes. There are homes that are a problem. These people need places to stay. This is my solution.

In California - SF? LA? - some homeless families (women with children) are taking over vacant city-owned houses. And this leads to the inevitable question of why, if the city owns houses that are vacant, there's a homeless problem?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We've been taking a family walk every day after breakfast. So far it seems to be helping keep us relatively sane.
