Ugh. Ohio wants to delay their primary and I don't want that to happen. I didn't early vote and fear mine being delayed too. Mostly I fear a precedent for November.

I don't think it's "wants to"; I think it's "is going to", because the primary was supposed to be tomorrow. It's being moved to June 2.

Yeah mine is tomorrow too. They sent an email looking for last minute poll workers. I expect from cancellations.

There needs to be a plan for how all of these businesses that are being told to close are going to survive. We are working through a spreadsheet of all of our creditors right now and going through one at a time and asking if they have any relief for businesses impacted by Covid-19. So far Ford Credit is the one that seems to have a path for relief and I'll hopefully have a call back later today from them confirming that.

My insurance companies? Yeah, they flat out stated we offer no relief on the premiums at this time. Of course they don't.

Also reaching out to the SBA and other places to get more information.

If there is not a real effort to save businesses, we are going to move directly from Pandemic to Economic Depression.

I deeply resented how much the W. Administration made me feel like a paranoid conspiracy theorist. Now I deeply resent how much this administration makes me feel like a walk-on character (not even a protagonist) of a Mira Grant novel.

I think it all just caught up to me, all of a sudden. My entire existence seems to be "I don't know" at the moment, and that is harder for me than a known problem. I don't know exactly how many hours I'm going to get over the next two weeks (possibly around 25 per week? does that make me in/eligible for unemployment or not?), I don't know why I suddenly have a throbbing headache and am exhausted (I slept all night, even late, but it could be anxiety?), and I have a nasty dry cough that I think is probably just my allergies/sinus, but how am I supposed to know for sure? I don't know if my landlord (a realty firm that owns literally 80% of the rental properties in town) is going to be understanding about finances (they're usually...not).

I'm grateful the bakery is going to stay open, but I'm also a little anxious now about dealing with the public. The bakery is right next to the bus station in town, so we get people from all over, including Philly, all the time.

Which is all just another way to say I am, as always, very grateful for this online home and family.

Just got this helpful message from one of my insurance agents that he clearly sent out to all of his business clients. So yeah, basically not our fault, and there is an exclusion, oh by the way don't forget to pay us or you'll lose the coverage that you have that doesn't do anything.

From what I have seen thus far, business policies all have the same exclusion which may read as follows:

Virus or Bacteria

Any virus, bacterium or other micro-organism that induces or is capable of inducing physical distress, illness or disease

As to Business Interruption, coverage usually hinges on direct physical damage to property caused by a covered peril, such as fire, vandalism, hail, etc. A virus typically is not a covered peril and, in any event, is often subject to policy exclusions.

As to Worker's Compensation coverage for an employee's disease, in general, the particular disease must arise in the course and scope of employment, and the risk of contracting the disease must be unique to the type of employment or the employee's duties. Similarly, under employer's liability coverage, the employee's disease must arise out of and be caused or aggravated by the conditions of employment.

Of course, each claim must be evaluated on its own merits, applying the actual policy language, and all claims should be reported to the Claims department.
