Yay, Shir!
I gave blood this morning, since I'm sure they're going to need it and fewer people will be donating. On the way home I decided to "swing by" Safeway to see if they had any shelf-stable milk. MISTAKE: the place was packed, the line was all the way back to the bakery section, and half the shelves were empty.
So instead I went to one of the small local Asian-owned markets and got almond milk, some shelf-stable single servings of milk, cheese, tortillas, pesto, and jalapeno cheese curls. It was busy but nothing like Safeway.
It's raining so I can't do yard work or walk the dog, instead I'm just on the couch reading ST:DSC fic...
Oh Teppy, I'm so sorry. So glad your friend was able to get treatment quickly.
Cash, I'm so glad that your brother is finally getting meds. I hope this is a start.
Yay, Shir!
askye, that sounds like a difficult but very necessary conversation to have. I hope it goes well for you.
Had to go to Costco on Thursday for supplies for the shop. No toilet paper at all and 3 packs of paper towels. Haven't tried any other supermarkets. We're doing takeout as much as possible to support local places.
I'm trying to figure out which of my spring break plans/errands I can still do. I'd had a whole stack of genealogy research stuff that required going to a Family History Center for their materials, and those are all closed (and I wouldn't go, anyway.) I desperately need new glasses, and I was going to make an appointment with an eye doctor, but even with the way they sanitize the equipment, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with putting my face on things that other people are putting their faces on. My furnace has been making some clanging sounds -- do I have someone come in to fix it?
ISTG, the only thing I want from the next few days is the news that Trump tested positive for the virus. I hear Lindsey Graham was exposed and is self-quarantining, so if I get a second wish...
I don't think they'd tell us if he tests positive.
They won't.
OTOH, if a vaccine is being developed, he'll probably insist on being a test monkey for it. I see no down-side there.
Everyone: May I recommend getting off the internet completely for at least several hours? I have done just that this afternoon, and it has made a WORLD of difference in my mental state.
I've been catching up with fictional television and that is renewing. Also doing some work, which not so much fun.
I got my hair cut and have watched the whole glassblowing competition show on Netflix. Not productive, but who cares? Not this guy!
I've been cleaning and watching Great Pottery Throw Down.
I just checked work email and we've moved to essential employees only. I have been deemed essential (which I kind of find hilarious as I cannot do much).
