I ordered coffee from Amazon, and Instacart Ed a bunch of stuff. A woman at work is bringing me TP from her stash!
All the non-work people I have interacted with seem supremely unbothered. Everyone at work is tense and preparing for the worst. We are all very focused right now on making sure our students can start attending classes online starting Monday, but if the hospital becomes over-run, we could end up working there.
Clinical sites are slowly announcing that no students will be allowed, which is pissing off students, but seriously, there is nothing I can do.
Theo have you heard anything about them testing your residents or staff?

Chorus says concerts are definitely on. They say the audience can spread out. Which is true...I'm more concerned about the pack of us with open mouths, breathing on each other for 90 minutes.
Schools in my area are closed tomorrow for a deep cleaning.

aurelia, are Chicago theatres still open?
The Governor and Mayor just held a press conference in which they announced the prohibition of gatherings larger than 1000 and recommended cancelling gatherings over 250.
For my employer, tonight's preview is still on. All other performances (opening was supposed to be Monday) are cancelled until further notice. Tomorrow afternoon we're filming the show, presumably to make available to ticket holders.
Just ordered a laptop (mine is ornery, and work gave me an iPad, so I think I am pretty far down on the list to get one, because I can technically do all my work from it, it is just annoying!). My internet is terrible, and I just upped my unlimited data plan to elite for only $5 more per month so I can use my phone as a hotspot even more often (I usually go to Dunkin Donuts when I work from home). I guess that is my panic buying.
I drafted a letter to our students in clinical to let them know they must abide by the policies of the clinical site, but we will be very flexible if they cannot complete their hours on time.
I was once told there were no academic emergencies, but this sure feels like it.
The director of the PhD program has no home computer and no internet service!

I concur. Cancel everything right now.
