You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

So, a student at my school has had contact with someone is is currently being tested for the virus. In response, the university president immediately shut down the campus completely. Her emergency message to every started with the phrase,"This is a time for calm..."

Our wings are not tired.

I received and completed our 2020 census today!

Sending my sister home to NY on a plane this afternoon. She was hoping to come back again at the end of April for our other sister's 70th birthday, but she fears that won't be an option. The uncertainty. Yeah, that.

Had a bunch of EMS vehicles next door at 5 AM this morning and wasn't really going to be able to get back to sleep so I didn't bother to try. Alas, I suspect drugs, but will get the details from other neighbors later I imagine.

Lastly in Laura Land news, I'll take my son to early vote later today. I'll probably wait until next Tuesday to cancel out his vote. I'll see how I feel when I see the lines for early voting. Although we will cancel each other out on the big question, he will surely ask me how he is supposed to vote on the 4 local items.

The bakery is absolutely dead today.

In response to DXM's powers that be - @@.

Our wings are not tired.

Took my sister to get her nails done yesterday and my SIL reported that they have had tons of cancellations for nail appointments. She was not pleased with the business drop. Nail techs are just one of so many groups of workers that have no safety net, and none will be forthcoming.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Is Scrappy out on a cruise right now? Or am I mis-remembering?

They were planning on going on the JoCo Cruise, which as far as I know was not canceled. I do know that several guests dropped out.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The library bookstore has decided to stop all sales and donations until May.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Completely unrelated, but also unfortunate, Mr Esse and a half-dozen of his co-workers just got laid off. Which isn't real shocking, since the company got acquired and the old boss resigned.

Anyone looking for a remote-work PHP/SQL programmer?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I had to run to Staples for printer ink because our printer, with impeccable timing, ran out of ink when I went to print the ceremony for our friends' wedding (which is tomorrow night) (pandemic wedding!). Staples has plenty of TP, as well as ginormous tubs of gummy bears. So if you need to stock up on TP and gummies, Staples has got your back.
