I picked a hell of a year to start working with assisted-living. At least I don't have to worry about my job going 'away' though it's more likely I'll end up doing more cleaning and general helping if enough of our staff end up not able to work.

Theo - have they tested you at your work?
I just checked niece's school and they are cancelling classes in advance of spring break but keeping the campus open. Nephew's college is extending spring break to the end of the month. Don't know if he's going home or what
FWIW, somebody I know here in MA is on home quarantine because their coworker in the next cubicle over has tested positive. So I'm kind of 2 degrees of separation now.
Same - a friend's coworker (who she doesn't work with or even know but is in the same building) tested positive so now her entire family is quarantined while they wait to be tested. If any of them have it, probably half the school district does too.
Our local university just announced that classes will resume online only after March 30 -- students were supposed to be back from spring break on Monday. I heard from someone local that WCU has twenty homeless and food-vulnerable students, and I have no idea what's going to happen to them.
It's hard to tell if we're seeing less traffic in the bakery yet. Definitely this weekend was a little bit slower than usual. I have no idea what will happen if we have to close -- we only have six people total on staff, and if one of us gets sick, it's pretty likely more will, too. Then again, we do clean and sanitize everything multiple times a day, and we all wash our hands constantly anyway.
I'm supposed to go to New Orleans in a couple of weeks, and I wasn't really thinking of canceling, though now I'm wondering if I should.

I really worry about the people in the nursing homes that are closed to visitors. They are so isolated already.
My brother works in a nursing home that is closed to visitors and that's what he said, everyone is more scared and isolated. But no one at his place has gotten sick, so gotta hope that keeps up.
Nephew is staying with his girlfriend off campus, so now I know.
Maybe Samuel Pepys is a better literary reference than a Gabriel Garcia Marquez? WRT to my experience of mostly reading personal experiences on FB
My FIL is ranting about the response of the WHO and the fact that China's a big donor and they didn't want to anger China, so they slow-played the response to the virus.
This sounds awfully like a Fox News-style exaggeration to me.
