Natter 76: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Foaminess
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
We're getting serious about making sure that every visitor Purells as they walk in the door. I'm being extra-cautious, because I'm the staffer who is interacting with a lot of the public in person.
I'm really worried about what happens if, like, half the kitchen staff ends up quarantined at home. (I wonder how they're staffing that nursing home in Washington where there have been so many deaths.)
It's really hard to make plans for April at this point, including things like lunch outings and/or concerts. It's all going to be one day at a time for a while.
The idea of Nilly!Kids never ceases to give me happies.
Sorry about the quarantine.
Oh, and I've started running Dungeons and Dragons games for some of his friends.
Owen DMs his own group and volunteers at my library D&D group. Which I LOVE.
billytea, have you played Honey Heist with them yet?
mr. flea has been obsessed with the toilet paper hoarding phenomenon all day (after overhearing his office mate talking to his wife on the phone about Kroger being out.)
Text received: "Robyn has a bidet so they don't have to worry."
Then he messages me that his sister (who lives in a two-person household) bought 45 more rolls bringing her in-home supply of tp to 75 rolls. That's like a year's worth of toilet paper. What does she think is going to HAPPEN?
I think I need to get toilet paper. I tend to get one roll at a time because I don't really have a place to put extra, and also I ride the bus.
I'll have my SIL mail you some.
I did not know that was happening. Huh.
Swing by Target on the way home, it did not look particularly plundered. There was a sign up saying you could not buy more than 6 packages of disinfectant wipes, but there also were still some there. I bought 2(so I could get both scents - citrus-mint and lavender-borage both sounded nice! I'll probably bring one to work and have one at home. Clean my phone and suchlike. In memory of the telephone sanitizers if Ark B

Oh, wow. Now I'm earwormed with "Journey of the Sorcerer."
Mom is not going to Costco tomorrow. But I will buy somethings and take them up to her. There is a group that meets to have lunch and one of the women just got back from Spain and Portugal and is planning on being at the lunch on Thursday. I told Mom to not go to that at all.
And then a co worker came by right before she left . She was dropping stuff off and she was coughing and had a runny nose and she kept coughing into her fist.i told her shouldn't come in like that and she said "well they don't have coverage" but we could find it. I mean she coughed almost non stop. I sanitized what I could and washed my hands it about drive me crazy.
I'll have my SIL mail you some.
Thanks :).
My job is crazy right now because we have been asked to prep for IF the school closes down in person classes, but we don't know if we will- just to prepare plans in case, and otherwise business as usual and don't tell other people.
You know what's more fun than having an horrific, family tragedy? Having strangers comment about it on the news site's Facebook page.
Which is why I am here more lately. Otherwhere online is a damned dumpster fire. You guys are empathetic and understanding and I really, really appreciate it.
We had a staff meeting today and there was some COVID-19 talk. Our director had been pretty flippant (at least one of my co-workers thought) so my boss agreed to work up a more thoughtful plan about how we will respond when the virus hits close to home. Mostly in our public play area, which is a giant Petri dish.
At least nobody is stealing our TP or hand sanitizer. So, yay?
