Timelies all!
Went to the National Geographic Museum to see the Jane Goodall exhibit. Amazingly, Mr. S was reasonably entertained in it, though we had to keep telling him to not go far ahead of us. (Considering that he got mad this morning because Gary had cut his waffle in fourths, like he wanted in previous days, and sent the plate with said waffle crashing to the ground, that's not too bad.)
sj, Considering that the Purim story is basically Haman(Boo!) trying to get all the Jews killed until Esther(Yay!) convinces the king of Haman(Boo!)'s evilness, that might make for nightmares. I don't know any Purim songs off-hand, though.
Yeah, I think they have been singing a song or playing a game about running from Haman. Any suggestions on what I can say to calm her?
sj, I'd go with a combination of "that was a long time ago, a long way from here. You're safe" and some kind of Esther Card (maybe in Hebrew?) to give her something she can do when she's scared (like Jilli's Monster Spray).
Thanks, Debet. I thought we had finally rooted out the things that were causing nightmares.
Alas, for some kids, nightmares expand to fit whatever the last big scary idea was.
I've achieved Bup and Kis today. OK, I went through about 15 "Monopoly" cards and found only one new piece, and I watched two movies (Rocketman and The Upside). That's a whole lot of nothing.
Gonna make coq au vin for dinner! Whee!
Went to a baby shower for Tim's niece today, who's at 36 weeks with baby #3. Niece started having contractions during the shower! But she called the doctor, who told her to come to the hospital so they could give her a shot to stop the contractions. So no baby, but it would have been hilarious for the baby to show up at her own shower.
Now headed to dinner and to see Birds of Prey.
Kitty~ma, Shir.
Theo, it's been a few months since she has had a nightmare after we figured out that a show she swore wasn't too scary was too scary. She's usually not a nervous kid. So, it's hard to know what is going to upset her.
Did not get to every location of Fairfield's Taste if Downtown today, but I am very full of deliciousness and have new places to add to my lunching our possibilities, so mission accomplished.
FTR, the only nod to the coronavirus I saw was that Starbucks will not make your drink in your cup, only their cups.
