I miss Oz. He'd get it. He wouldn't say anything, but he'd get it.

Herding cats for fun

Good to know that virus panic isn't nationwide at this point.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Nobody's flipping out in San Francisco. At least about the pandemic. Not too happy about my neighbors putting up Bernie signs.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ltc announced to someone at school today that we were finally getting rid of Tr*mp today. It's possible I didn't explain how elections work very well, but it is still funny.

I'm trying not to freak out about the Corona virus, but everyone's "don't worry only the elderly and disabled will die" really isn't helping.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

A coworker just got back from Denver, where she'd gone with her husband who had a conference. Something to do with physics. Anyway, that conference has been canceled, too. I get that conferences are not life and death, and there's a lot of handshaking going on. But apparently the cancellation's doing unfortunate things to Lyft drivers' and restaurants' businesses.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

But apparently the cancellation's doing unfortunate things to Lyft drivers' and restaurants' businesses.

Between the high concentration of minimum wage jobs that don't give paid sick leave or offer WFH options and the general public canceling travel plans, the service industry is just going to be hammered over the next couple of months. I'm starting to be relieved I didn't have any plans for spring break.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, this is already brutal for all kinds of vulnerable people.

I, on the other hand, think this is the perfect time to book conference travel for June because the prices are cheap! (So even if my job ends up being out the $$, it's just a couple hundred dollars...)

Our wings are not tired.

Ugh, poor Nashville and community. Every time I look the number goes up.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Scary night in Nashville last night, but we are fine, and Liese is too. We're about a mile from where there was major damage in our neighborhood. I'm still waiting to hear from a friend whose house is closer to see if she's OK, so any ~ma you have to spare on that front would be appreciated.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Thanks for checking in.

Thank for posting, Kate. All the ~ma for your friends and neighbors.
