Oh Cash, I'm so sorry. Much ~ma for your entire family.
sj, travel insurance usually doesn't cover pandemics. Most airlines are allowing fee-free changes to tickets for travel in affected areas.
I'm worried that our annual conference will have to be cancelled. It's happening at the beginning of April, which is not great timing-wise.
I'm sorry, Cashmere.
ION, just back from a job interview. Good: It would be a job, possibly paying well, with good benefits.
Bad: Open plan office.
FWIW, I just timed it and a leisurely rendition of that one part of Sweet Caroline (Hands touching hands, etc.) got me to 20 seconds before "Sweet Caroline!" FYI to all.
This is the most on-brand way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Boston, well done.
Cashmere, I'm so sorry. I hope your father and brother can both get proper treatment.
Wow, Amy dropped out before her own state. Joining Biden and endorsing him.
Oh, Cash, that's too too much. I'm sorry.
Thanks to David's mention of the President's Day extended sale at Macy's, I finally remembered to order more wash cloths last night with about an hour left on the sale. Which is something that has been on my To Do list for... a while.
Excellent!
My head cold is snot profluent. I've administered antihistamines, NSAIDs, two poached eggs and now a mug of homemade chicken stock with lemon, ginger, Sriacha and Worcester in it. That was good.

Heh. I was inspired by that one tweet!

Oh wow, my coworker told me the first part, but not the second.
That's a lot of family upheaval to deal with at once, Cash. I hope things get better for all involved quickly.
I think I'm going to check with my mom and see if she's open to postponing our NYC trip until Fall, when there hopefully won't be a pandemic going on.
My coworkers showed up at the ELI (Educause Learning Initiative) conference in Seattle this weekend only to be told it was canceled. We live in NC, so it was a bit of a hike for a conference that didn't happen. The conference center let those who were already there take it over for an "unconference" (where you sort of plan discussions and demos on the fly), so that's happening.
