I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was wondering how all you Washingtonians were doing. I heard there was a State if Emergency but I haven't figured out what that means. And apparently we have a State of Emergency here (in the county), too? It seems to just mean the schools are disinfecting surfaces more often so far, but I've been advised to have 3 weeks of food on hand just in case. Which I might already have, I need to inventory to e sure, but I could probably stretch it if I had to. 6 weeks of cat food, I know that.

Anyway, I hope you get your trip and stay healthy, meara!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Cindy, msbelle, thanks for the calling and canvassing. I am so worn out over the past three election cycles that I am not sure I can handle it. I was a volunteer organizer in 2016 and, after spending 30 hours a week in the campaign office, the results gutted me. (I mean, they gutted us all, but I am not ready for phone banking and canvassing again quite yet.)

Except now we have a local candidate challenging the GOP state senator who won after some gerrymandering twisted the district enough to take a 35 year democrat-held seat with a University into a republican seat during the Scott Walker years. Gah. I at least made a donation to his campaign.

My goal was to survive the Trump years on wine and sheet cake. Well, dammit, I have the diabetes now, so we pretty much need this election.

Oh, great. Now I can't even watch Steel Magnolias and say, "at least I don't have diabetes."

Wish you all the 'ma, Cash.

All the -ma in the world, Cashmere.

Sorry to beep and run. I know I've been AWOL for a long time but I'm weaning myself off of FB and Twitter is a trash fire of a different sort.

The incident last night involved my brother who suffers from paranoid schizophrenia and my frail, elderly father. There was a shooting. BOTH of them are alright but in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. My brother is off his meds and Dad is 80 years old with some cracked ribs, a swollen eye, possibly a broken foot and who knows what else after my brother attacked him.

This just fucking sucks. Mental illness sucks. Guns suck. Everything sucks.
