I have an in-person interview from the NDA place on Monday. Two interviews, actually. They want me to bring writing samples showing GUI documentation. Guess what? Anything from last job is protected by an NDA.
Sigh.
'Bushwhacked'
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

And they must have 3 references. Right now. With phone numbers.
So a directive came down from corporate about disinfecting and having hand sanitizer at all cash registers. My supervisor went to Walmart, which was out, and finally found a lot of stuff someplace. So they were going around wiping down things like the escalator handle thing and all the registers etc.
One of my co workers got a little freaked out but I told them we should have been doing this all winter. And honestly we should do this all the tim.
And one co worker has been living in a no news bubble "it's just so negative I don't watch the news" and had NO IDEA about Covid 19. None .
I don't know what is going to happen with everything but I am getting worried about y parents. Especially mom since her lungs aren't the best.
One interesting thing that I read in the coverage is that one of the reasons that flu season is so impossible to control is that 14% of influenza infections don't show any symptoms at all. So some of those people who don't get the annual shot "and don't get sick ever" are still actually spreading the disease.
I have several friends my age with chronic asthma, so I'm very worried about them, too. And all my residents at work.

So what do you do in that situation?? Do you have to make something up, or can you just scrub something from work?
Okay, if y'all have an extra Chris Evans I'll take one too.
One does not simply have an extra Chris Evans.
Hey, Cashmere was here for 18 seconds, and I missed her? I mean, I see her on the Twitters, but that's different somehow.

I worry about my 78-year-old heart disease-having dad, who is still working part-time at Kroger because he's too bored to be 100% retired. That is a LOT of people he comes in contact with every day that he works. I assume store management has probably emphasized handwashing/hand sanitizer precautions, though, and beyond that, there's not a lot else he can do. He has gotten the pneumonia vaccine, so if he were to get the coronavirus, he shouldn't develop pneumonia as a secondary infection.
Tim's dad lives in a retirement community, so I hope the staff there is on top of preventive measures. Tim's dad is one of those people who has never gotten the flu vaccine because he never gets sick, so I'm guessing he hasn't gotten the pneumonia vaccine, either. I'm trying to not think about how quickly a virus can spread through a residential community like a dorm or a retirement community.
I'm not super worried about Tim, although it's in the back of my mind that he had heart surgery only 6 weeks ago, so even though he's doing super well, he's not actually fully healed. Plus he takes meds for his RA that suppress his immune system. But he's a smart person and knows to be diligent about handwashing, and that's about all he can do. Fortunately he really is recovered/recovering amazingly well and is pretty robustly healthy, so he's got that going for him.
Could/would your dad ever wear gloves at work, Teppy?
I'm currently making calls for Elizabeth Warren using their ACD. I've been logged in for 13 minutes. I've made 7 calls. I've gotten 4 hangups, one man who didn't speak English well and said the person I was trying to reach had moved; one call where the man (I had asked for a woman by name) said they were on the Do Not Call list, and 1 Robo-blocker.
I think I might have detected why she hasn't been performing all that well.
Sigh.
EDIT
Posting here was a good luck charm. I got thru to a nice lady, who said she and her husband are voting for Liz.
I'm glad you're doing the work for her, Cindy, even if the results haven't been encouraging so far. Cold calling people is basically my idea of hell on earth, so I have major respect for those who can do it.
Has anyone heard an update from amyth lately?
