"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

but they were gone before I could examine what was inside!!

I can guarantee there was chopped olives because without olives THEN IT'S NOT A DAMN MUFFALETTA!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Agreed, obviously. There did seem to be olive salad left in the box.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm assuming they were too delicious to last long enough to be examined, so well done vegetarian Muffaletta making musician!

I had steak and popcorn for dinner. Not anyone's tradition, so far as I know, but kind of fitting. I need to throw some beans on the Instant Pot for breakfast now...

I did not think about how to manage making black-eyed peas for lunch when I was buying a ham hock. Oops.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

We had pancakes for dinner, since today is also Pancake Tuesday. (And because I am susceptible to people's pictures on Facebook of *their* pancake dinners.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

The hoity-toity restaurant down the street had a special Mardi Gras menu tonight, and although I know their cabbage rolls and oysters are excellent I couldn't pass up the muffaletta burger. Turns out olive salad and salami works really well with a good beef patty.

That sounds indulgent and interesting!

BTW, if anyone missed out on pancakes today, I believe that Sunday is Butter Sunday - more about blinis than pancakes, I suppose, but basically the same.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Supper tonight is going to be goldfish, a banana, a couple of satsumas, a handful of walnuts, and maybe a rice cake or two. Possibly string cheese.

We've had the not-flu--chills, can't get warm, digestive distress, aversion to food, sit-down-fall-asleep syndrome. Not fun. I'd watch nonstop episodes of The Repair Shop but I turn on the tv I'll just doze off. I don't even have the pleasure of missing school or work for this. Bah.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I failed to have pÄ…czki or pancakes today and work has worn me out.
