Change in ownership is a legitimate reason for leaving.
Natter 76: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Foaminess
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Good to know. Thanks.
Also, I'm assuming the other job is not at a bakery? You can just say that whatever the other job is is more in line with what you want to be doing.
The interview was cancelled. They did some restructuring over the weekend and the position is filled. So much for that.
ok people. My signed acceptance of the job offer was sent back at 4:45pm Friday. I get that that was too late on Friday to do anything, but it is not 9am - 1 hour after the office opens AND nothing. come on people. I am an impatient thing. I need my background check stuff to fill out and a call about scheduling the pre-hire physical/drug test.
OTOH - I also need to be doing stuff.
1 - call car inspection people and get appt to re-check windows and get approved inspection.
2- research garage door and gate companies to get appt and quote for electronic opener door/gate.
3 - go pick up meds that were ready on Friday.
4 - call to get referrals for dog walker to set up appt this week.
probably like 10 other things I am not thinking of.
Dana, sounds like my niece the lifelong Star Wars fan needs to go on Ride of the Resistance. Wow.
Gud, that's a sweet little car. I've gotten so spoiled by heated seats and a rearview camera, I don't think I'd buy a car without them anymore.
YAY NEW JOB msbelle!
Congrats on the new place, Toddson!
Sophia, I'm sorry for all the stress. I hope you find a good coping mechanism soon. (And then maybe tell me what it is?)
Shir, I hope everything worked out and you feel better!
Ugh, sorry Amy. I hope something better shows up soon.
Go msbelle Go! If you get bored I'll send you some of my list.
I've gotten so spoiled by heated seats and a rearview camera, I don't think I'd buy a car without them anymore.
For real on the rearview camera. I freak out if I don't have one. It is like driving blindfolded. New car has all these sensors that show 18", 26" or whatever on my screen so I know how far away all the obstacles are from all corners of the car. It helps my security so much.
I could use some of that awesome Buffista job-ma. I have three job possibilities going right now, but none of them are certain. One is a local government position as a county magistrate, I have an interview on Wednesday. Another is a tech support/do-everything position at a local real estate training office, I've had two interviews so far, everyone seems to like me, and now I'm waiting on an interview with the CEO. And the other is an editor position, basically the same thing as my last job but for a financial services firm, I've had one interview and it's been a week and a half and I'm on tenterhooks because they haven't contacted me with either a yea or nay. They ought to hire me, they can't possibly find anyone who would be better at that job than me! Dammit. That's the one I want, partly because it uses my existing skillset, and mostly because it pays 20k more than the other two.
My sister spent the weekend with me and helped me clear out closets. We took a full Subaru of bags of clothes to the Goodwill. Now my bedroom and the "spare" room are clean and mostly organized and I can find all my clothes. My friend Katie is moving in with me in about six weeks, so getting the spare room, which will be hers, emptied of my stuff is imperative. Next step is listing all the stuff I didn't donate on eBay, because after four months of unemployment, my funds are getting low. Other next step is moving the books out of that room. I have no idea how I'm going to cull two big bookshelves down to one small bookshelf. A ton of books I've either never read or haven't read in years, and I still can't let go of them.
Sending waves of job~ma your way, Zenkitty. May the offer arrive today for the editing position.
GO YOU! all things crossed for job.
Not sure it would help, but I made a spreadsheet of my not read books and verified I could get many of them at library as ebooks or audiobooks (including cloudlibrary and hoopla). That made it easier to let them go.
