Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I would, msbelle, but it's a helluva jog out of line.

I hope you can get something set up--or at least work with the vet and your former rescue to find her a better place.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I feel unreasonably proud of myself that I DID manage to reread the first of fluffy witchcraft cozy series while I was at the spa.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Self-care gold star, Atropa!

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

San Francisco branch libraries are definitely not Silent Book Club. At least, our neighborhood branch isn't. It's crowded and tense and just a hair short of outright noisy, and the staff are frequently called upon to be librarians and crisis counselors and deescalate fights and perform pre-paramedics triage, and they are absolutely amazing.

I just love librarians. I wish I had thought to go into it as a field years earlier, when there were more jobs and fewer librarians, because I think it would be perfect for me- being a knowledge helper, but a people helper too. I think the thing I have fallen into- nursing education- is very similar, but means I am going to have to hang on to this job until I retire, because it is so specialized.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Answer is in—bone scan showed plenty of inflammation, in the spot that was hurting as well as one other.

meara, I'm wondering if maybe I should have that done. The last surgeon told me removing the plate would be easy. There has to be inflammation around my ankle joint. I didn't know bones could get inflamed too.

Anyone want to help me form a transport line from TX to here so I can rescue this pupper?

I'm in.

Coding and Sleeping

Get better, everyone who has afflictions. I've had some bad abdominal pain the last couple of days, but today is better. Yesterday was especially rough. Overall it's just been a miserable weekend for a variety of reasons and I'm glad tomorrow is Monday.

I replaced my car after 9 years and 175,000 miles. I actually got a little bit for a trade-in which I wasn't expecting for a 13 year-old Ford Focus with 270,000 miles on it and some obvious issues even if it still driveable. Unfortunately, when I went in to finalize it and they were pulling the new (well, new to me) car out from detailing it the check engine light came on with a spark plug misfire. So I got a 2017 Mazada 6 as a loaner while they fix it. I went with the cheap used Hyundai in a bunch of miles option and got a 2014 Elantra GT, but I really like it. Tomorrow they are going to drive it out to my office to swap for the loaner.

My only social media is Twitter. I can jump in and out quickly and I hear about current events since I follow a good number of journalists. Because journalists tend to follow some right-wing folks, I get a fair number of pro-Trump stuff too, which isn't all bad. I don't want my stream to be too filtered.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Somebody decided to get in bed with Mommy and Daddy at 2:15 this morning. We didn't sleep well after that.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Oh dear, Sheryl -- did I mention how glad I was to chat with you for a bit?

Gud, take care of yourself! I'm so glad that you've got a new car to play with and enjoy!

I lasted at Boskone for about an hour after the last panel. Had some outstanding conversations with friends seen not often enough, watched/listened to a couple stimulating panels, but it was a relief to go home to real food and quiet music.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

102.1°

I hardly got any sleep last night, either.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Ugh, that's the worst, Tom. I hope it breaks soon.
