"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

silent book club sounds awesome. Especially at a restaurant where there is presumably food and beverages, unlike at the library. If I'm going to settle in for a long read there must be snacks and tea.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I am very happy to report, to those who are following at home, that after 30 hours of rest I got my ability to read and think about academic content back. It got unnerving for a while.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Silent Book Club sounds amazing!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Dangit, someone called from Bloomberg's campaign, when I explained why I wasn't voting for him in the primary, I forgot to mention the racism and history of abuse!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Silent Book Club looks amazing, and the one near here is my former local bookstore, so what a bummer I don't live or work near there anymore!

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

For my long holiday weekend, I got: A low-grade fever! Yay!

It would probably be even worse, except that I took some Advil before I realized I was coming down with a fever.

Bummer! I hope it is of short duration with no lingering effects.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

BOO being sick!

Also Boo - the people who took over being fosters for Miley, my last foster dog, are either not giving her the care she needs, or she has another issue. Well, I know they were/are not giving her the full care she needs because I know they stopped feeding her the special diabetic food at some point. Now I hope they have started back, but honestly have no idea. She now has something (cold? allergies?) that is causing her nose to get stopped up and also one eye is getting matted and the vet said it is not producing tears?!?! Never had these issues with me. I just want to run back and get her. WAHHH. Anyone want to help me form a transport line from TX to here so I can rescue this pupper?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Boo fever! May it pass quickly and leave behind nothing but maybe some goofy dreams.

San Francisco branch libraries are definitely not Silent Book Club. At least, our neighborhood branch isn't. It's crowded and tense and just a hair short of outright noisy, and the staff are frequently called upon to be librarians and crisis counselors and deescalate fights and perform pre-paramedics triage, and they are absolutely amazing.
