I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That sounds like a good choice, Matt.

1990 was the year I graduated from college and I immediately moved in with my parents to save money while I worked 3 part time jobs and saved up for my first grad school attempt. Whenever our schedules worked out to allow it, my mom and I would get cheap seats at the Coliseum in a quest to see Ricky Henderson break the record for stolen bases. I feel enormously lucky that we were successful! I haven't really kept up watching baseball, but that was glorious.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have so much love and support for everyone's posts. But my cognitive load cannot handle responding individually.

Guys- this graduate school thing is killing me. I cannot continue to pull it out of my ass at the last minute like this, but on the other hand this seems to be how I work, so do I just roll with it? I just asked for an extension on my peer feedback, and then as soon as I did that, was able to complete the assignment in like, two hours. Otherwise, I seem to have analysis paralysis!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Well said.

Heh. Thanks, DXM!

How fun! What a great memory.

Also happy birthday minus-t!!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

so Yang and Bennett dropped out of race and now I am seeing one person reporting that Steyer is out, but I think she got confused with Bennett.

What is even happening?

now I am seeing one person reporting that Steyer is out, but I think she got confused with Bennett.

Ha!

Happy belated birthday, -t! I didn't realize it was your birthday yesterday, but I knew it was your birthday before I got to b.org tonight, because I went to my old email account that I seldom check, to see if I got a receipt for my donation to Elizabeth Warren, and I had a reminder from LiveJournal.

(It is, of course, my old email account, because entities like LiveJournal and ActBlue have the address.)

Thrive to spite them

Theo we have been trying to do date night but weather and varying work schedule makes it hard. Plus we would like to have just time alone for a nice at home Netflix and chill kinda night.

He and his mom are around each other WAY too much, they are home together almost all day because they are both on disability and stay at home. Benefits of a stay at home Boyfriend are dinners made almost every night and laundry done and I don't have to worry about it.

we've talked to her about doing stuff but she doesn't really drive and she hasn't really been receptive and she has a lot of anxieties about stuff.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

posted a new article on the front page of the A's blog

Coolness, Hec! Hey, I dunno if you've met him, but I know the A's unofficial/official historian -- he's my niece's BF's father, a long-time Oakland resident, former llama trek guide, and amateur historian. Wrote a book a few years back about sports history in Oakland. He's done some work for the A's in the last few years, and knows a lot. I can hook you up if you haven't already met him...

Sorry I missed your birthday, -t, I hope it turned out okay.

I'm just beyond stressed about the political news: Trump squawked about Roger Stone's sentencing recommendations on Twitter, and immediately the DOJ revised the recommendation downward, and four AUSAs quit in protest.

I kid you not: they're going to open a DOJ investigation on whoever the Dem candidate is, before the Democratic convention even starts. And there's nothing we can do about it.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I am sure Maggie will be thrilled by the soup, whether or not she's getting plenty of hearty food elsewhere.

Maggie is definitely not getting any hearty food anywhere else--when she put the stew in the fridge, there were maybe three other items in it. I have pretty close to utterly fucking had it with this country and what it does to its most marginalized citizens (but I'm incredibly grateful for her doctor at the General, who's connected her with the city's Dept of Human Services, and now she has a social worker who's trying to untangle what food assistance and debt relief she's eligible for).

But she was thrilled with the stew. Just the smell of it was amazing and life-giving.

Plate-removal~ma to meara and get-out-of-the-house~ma to Tim, and, Sophia, I am completely in awe of you tackling graduate school even with the killing and the ass-pulling.

Happy birthday, -t, and may the evening be infinitely less stressful and infinitely more comforting and celebratory than work, and with no nice foods going astray.

eta: Suela, the news of the world, and the country, and the current administration in particular, is also killing me. Horrifying.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Happy Birthday, -t!!! I'm sorry about the work stress.
