'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Sophia, here's a suggestion: every time one of these tasks gets set on your plate and you have to help them do it, send out a debriefing email documenting just what was done, and CC all relevant parties. First, it will help by documenting what is to be done in this particular circumstance (and even better if you add, "and parts like this can be found in the X catalog" to ahem-encourage individual initiative).

The first handful of emails are helpful, but as they pile up -- especially for the managers irksome -- the cluelessness of the seekers will become more apparent, and also just how much energy you're having to put into cleaning up for other staffers.

Basically, you want to weaponize the bureaucracy in your favor.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Sara drove me around a bunch of industrial and South of me Baltimore today and it was awesome, but we saw a place that had a sign for "Nude Sip & Paint" and I was all HELL TO THE NO! WHAT THE HELL?!?!

and apparently there are both sip & paint events where models are nude AND where painters have the option to be nude and they are EVERYWHERE.

crawling back into my prude cabin. I just would rather not know.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S woke us up at 2:30 this morning crying because he wet the bed.(Sadly, I'm not surprised as he ripped the last nighttime pull-up and ended up putting underwear on) It has been a rough day.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The Oscars are already making me feel a little strange.

There seemed no rhyme or reason to what films were represented: joker, jo jo rabbit, midsommer, us...

I love that msbelle was compelled to google nude sip&paint. That was Station North neighborhood.

But yeah, I drove aimlessly around the industrial area next to Carroll Park, into Pigtown &Hollins Market,up to Harlem Park, Sandtown-Winchester, back across North Ave to my neighborhood. Meant to go up to Reservoir Hill, but turned right when I shoulda gone left, which is a common problem I have on the diagonal grids. I never really get lost in Baltimore, but sometimes I can only tell you vaguely where I am, but can also still get to where I can reorient (easy when it pretty much all heads downhill to the harbor, with fallsways/runs cutting through the city like a fan.)

It was fun.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse, are you saying the fancy beans were just okay or was that something else?

It was the fancy beans! But I overcooked and undersalted them, so it's really on me.

and apparently there are both sip & paint events where models are nude AND where painters have the option to be nude and they are EVERYWHERE.

What the what???

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I learn something new from Buffistas every day. So, here's my contribution, do not eat nitrogen ice cream if you have asthma. I'm fine now.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yikes! Happy your ice cream didn't win the fight!

I'm watching the Oscars broadcast, and I think that song by Cynthia Erivo just retroactively erased Randy Newman from DVR recordings of the show.
