I can handle the Oz Full Monty. I mean, not 'handle' handle.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

I would actually be interested to hear what he thinks that means. Like, does he pay taxes? Stop at red lights?

He says that he follows laws because he doesn't want to be thrown in jail for breaking them. Even though he never consented to those laws applying to him.

Like, he hears himself saying this stuff -- how does he not hear how ridiculous it is?

Our wings are not tired.

I feel your pain, Teppy. My son Brendon is that way, except he does always vote, but he votes for the progressive candidates that have no chance. I am rather amused that he thinks he gets to vote for the Independent running against Wasserman Shultz, when she isn't in his district. (snerk) But at least he is voting for Gillum.

My brother is on the opposite side. Also extremely smart, but never met a conspiracy theory he didn't believe because we are all idiots who buy into the lies from the MSM. Listens to all the right wing radio talk shows. Shudder.

No wonder why I hang out here so much! I love you for that combo of spicy brains and sanity!

Tim's parents were always like this. But since he moved into his assisted living facility, he's stopped watching Fox News all day (or, I think, at all), and he doesn't mention politics at all unless someone else brings it up. (Like the evening we joined him for dinner with his cohort of lady friends, and whip-smart Millie from Massachusetts went on and on about how much she loves Trump, at which point Tim's dad jumped in and agreed about how trustworthy Trump is, unlike "that Obama guy." I really really liked Millie until she mentioned how much she loves Trump.) (And is someone from Massachusetts even allowed to be a Republican? Maybe that's why she left the state and moved to Ohio.)

I wanted to wait until the before-work rush of voters thinned out, so I am about to make some eggs and then head up to my polling place to whip this country back into shape.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It was weird hearing my uber-conservative, Blue Lives Matter aunt and uncle suddenly go off on how awful Trump is last autumn. People are complex.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

(And is someone from Massachusetts even allowed to be a Republican? Maybe that's why she left the state and moved to Ohio.)

That sounds right. Of course, we do have Republicans here, and everyone apparently loves our Republican governor.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

There are sadly lots of Republicans in MA, some of them I'm related to and are also way too smart to believe some of the shit they post on Facebook.

Maybe I should tell Millie so she can go home and claim her rightful throne as queen of the Mass. Republicans.

No thank you.

Millie is one of -- for real, now -- FIVE women who are Tim's dad's girlfriends. The dude is a player. (I mean, it's slightly sad -- because of how his dementia affects his short-term memory, he can't remember their names. But they all seem pretty happy, so that's a good thing for him.)

My favorite is Edith, who has a tiny dog and who rolled her eyes REAL hard when Millie was talking about how awesome Trump is. ILU and your dog, Edith.
