Joyce: Dawn, you be good. Xander: We will. Just gonna play with some matches, run with scissors, take candy from some guy, I don't know his name.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Sadly, a lot of what you're picking up in certifications and additional degrees is the jargon you will need to persuade other people to believe you know what you're talking about.

Exactly. I just need to know the lingo.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Tuesday is my last recycling day here, so I am trying to get through/consolidate as much as I can that will need recycling (food/cleaning supplies/toiletries/paper). Thankfully, I think I am through most of it.

Last night I packed up TiVO, DVD, and stereo receiver.

Today I hope to finish the front living room (should be less than 4 boxes left in there, plus taking down drapes and curtain rod.

I've texted my realtor, a tree guy, and a lawn guy thus far, trying to get things done this coming week.

Still have a gd bed and entertainment for sale.

Zenkitty - You might want to practice for interviews by taking past projects and figuring out how to explain them in project management or agile jargon. Sort of "how can you make them sound like the interviewer wants to hear".

Having said that, the project management side of my job is my least favorite and I would not want to do it full time. I seem to spend all my time trying to track things I don't really control and then nagging people I don't supervise to get their part of the project done. It's beyond frustrating.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It has been an awful day here with Mr. S, and I'm really frazzled. Yeah, I know he misses daddy, but I can't do anything about it. Mr. S has already trashed his room and was behaving badly at my MIL's house as well.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry, Sheryl. Can Gary video chat with him maybe? Or would that make it worse?

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Y'all, every time I clean the bathroom, I wish I could set it on fire with my mind. It is so outdated and horrifically ugly and the linoleum is peeling up from the floor and the pedestal tub has to go (Tim's RA means we really need to move to shower only, which I'm fine with, because that damn tub takes up too much room). I'm still hoping (though very possibly in vain) that Tim's hospital bills won't be so ridiculous that we can still redo the bathroom this year. (I mean, our insurance is shockingly good, so we'll see. But Operation: Non-Horrific Bathroom may be pushed back to be a 2021 project.)

Relatedly, I'd just like to say how well cleaning your bathtub with a broom works. For real. If you are old/have a gimpy back/don't want to get down on your knees to scrub the tub, you can clean the bathtub with a synthetic-bristle broom and it works really well. Google it.

Laura, I don't think that would work. The only video chat software is on Gary's laptop, which I don't have the password to. Plus, he's in Las Vegas, so there's the time difference to consider,

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I would take your word over Google any day, Steph. And yay for solutions that don't stress your back.

I agree with whoever said knowing the jargon is the key to being taken seriously in work life. There should be classes in jargon. Best of luck to all the job-searchers.

Sheryl, I'm sorry your kid won't cut you a break. From dealing with ADHD--not the same, but it gave me a glimmer, maybe--it's not the acting out or the individual incidents so much as it is the *unrelenting* nature of raising an exceptional kid. It feels like you never get a full breath, and you're always anticipating the next crash so you never actually relax. I'm sorry, and I hope things ease up for you guys.

msbelle, you are a wonder. You've done such an amazing amount of work for this move. You've no idea how much I admire you.

Nothing here worth reporting. Um, the snow has almost all melted? It's nearly 50F degrees? Yeah, that's about it.

Came home to no internet tonight. BOO!

My dad and I moved a full bed with a twin trundle over to their house for the estate sale since it hasn't sold via my listings and his truck may be sold as early as tomorrow, so me might not have transport much longer.

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, the NYT endorsed both Klobuchar and Warren! They apparently can't just choose one, like many of us.
