'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

One of the things that I appreciate about my job is that I get to do a variety of things, from driving to looking for stuff, to toting stuff around, and then I get to do computer-y stuff when I get home.

I finally have an acceptable bid for replacing my hot water tank (it's technically not what they call a hot water heater, since the actual heating is done in the high-efficiency furnace) -- the first guy wanted $6K.. how about $2438? That's still a not-inconsiderable amount of money, but still approaching 1/3 what Shady Plumber wanted.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad to hear that, Theo!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I made a dent in the endless laundry pile today by doing several loads. I even folded it. I took a couple things down from the freezer for food for the week. And we made a weeks worth of oatmeal in the instant pot. Adulting is hard.

Oh no, we've been in the waiting room for almost 2 hours. I'm guessing at least 2 more hours before he's seen.

Our wings are not tired

Ouch! Good vibes for Tim! I've been dealing with an injured shoulder and I don't even want to think about how painful a dislocated elbow must be!

Not actually a dislocated elbow! (X-rays just showed a fucked-up joint.) Just extreme, extreme pain from bad arthritis in that joint. I have never seen him in pain like that. It was scary.

So he got a shot of dilaudid and steroids, and has an Rx for Percocet and more steroids, and a referral to an orthopedic doctor. He's not discharged yet, but soon. Hopefully we'll be in bed by 3:30 a.m.
