May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My mother apparently uses Winters, FWIW. [link]

Ugh, Askye.

I am at work. I was at work yesterday, and I'll be at work tomorrow. I don't even work retail! Bah Humbug!

I am going to the festival of lights at the zoo tonight with small (and large) children though.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I just finished grocery shopping with Aidan and Maria. We drive her crazy because she is so efficient and also hate shopping. I kind of get why people say I am patient because I am OK with things like finding parking and making a bunch of trips and standing in line and choosing things, and Maria hates all of that! On the other hand she is a teacher, and although I am patient with people the first few times I show them things, if they don't get it, I get so impatient. Maybe I wouldn't with kids, but adults I am training I feel like they are being willfully obstinate about just learning how to do the thing.

She got so impatient with me trying to teach Aidan how to put carts together (one was actually broken) that she grabbed it out of our hands and just put the two carts back separately!

On the other hand, when we vacation, she wants to play everything by ear and just wander, and I want a plan and I want to make sure I see the museum or zoo or whatever in the suggested order and use a map to go to things without a lot of wandering because we might miss something.

People are so different!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jesse, I made contact with Winters so that's in motion. No doubt expensive motion, but that's Owning A House for you -- you never have to say "what will I do with all this lovely money!?"

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy holidays, lovely people!

I'm skipping a lot in request of some ~ma. Big day tomorrow - mom is having a minor operation (but she's still an older woman with some health issues), and I'm speaking with someone that I want as a thesis advisor. I'd really like all to go well. Also, I'm operating on very little sleep, so no idea how the grammar of this post will look like eventually.

And thank you.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I am going to the festival of lights at the zoo tonight with small (and large) children though.

The weather is so nice that it's going to be packed. Good luck!
